Support Request: Machines not getting enough power

  • Hey all:

I have a really simple setup, and for some reason it isn't powering 4 machines. They work sometimes, but at other times they flicker on and off very quickly.

    SETUP:

    :Generator: :Generator:
:Cable: :Cable: :Cable: :Cable: :Cable: :Cable: :Cable:
    ------------:Electric Furnace: :Compressor: :Extractor: :Macerator:

Fairly simple. I've run the same setup many times before with no problems. Machines are 12 blocks away from the furthest machine to the furthest generator. Cabling is insulated copper. There are no upgrades on the machines, and the generators are filled with coal. The machines are attached to a grid of cables. The grid is at the back, and is 4x5. The machines are on the bottom. When the machines aren't getting power the generators are in an idle state.

    Ideas?

  • Count the amount of wires to the machines? Generators/batteries won't send power over cabling if there is so much loss it will not get there. Also remember every cable intersection uses more CPU time (from what you have said you have the machines in a grid which is very inefficient). Check my signature for my cable loss calculator, count the number of cables from the generator to the machines (shortest route) and check using the calculator.

Also, get a BatBox between the generators and machines.
