Weird Message. Binary?

  • I recently received this message:
    .::....:.....:.:.:....:
    ....::..,.,.:::....:.::.::..:.:::,.:..::.:.:..:..:.:.:..:.:.:
    ...::.::....::..:::.::.:...:::..:::......,.....:.:::.:.....

    Can anyone decode it? I tried to turn it into binary then convert it to ASCII text but I only got this:

    They do look oddly familiar, but can anyone please help me?

  • Can't be binary, as there's 3 characters.

    Can't be morse code, as there's 3 characters.

    Can't be braille, as the patterning doesn't match up.

    Unless the comma represent word breaks

    What was the source?

  • I recently received this message:
    .::....:.....:.:.:....:
    ....::..,.,.:::....:.::.::..:.:::,.:..::.:.:..:..:.:.:..:.:.:
    ...::.::....::..:::.::.:...:::..:::......,.....:.:::.:.....

    Looks a bit awkward since there are only 4 commas i would think it is a personal coding in tertiary code wheras .=0 :=1 ,=2

    So maybe it would be

    01100001000001010100001
    0000110020201110000101101100101112010011010100100101010010101
    00011011000011001110110100011100111000000200000101110100000

    So if i presume you got the message just in this format 3 lines i would think its a message wheras 01100001000001010100001 means something like "Hello [insert name]"

    since the "first line" has 23 characters wheras 23 is a prime number(is that the english word for it?), it must be a personal coding where a letter can have 2-23 characters as far as i would think this makes it very hard to decode.
