I'm just trying to say that I played Minecraft without mods, and the flow of water wasn't overpowered.
I tested the strength of the water three more times, after installing ModLoader, ModLoaderMP, and MCForge.
When I tested it after installing the IC2 Beta release, the flow was impossibly overpowered and impossible to move against. In the aforementioned thread, this was dismissed as something to "complain to Notch" about. I seriously doubt that it's a problem with the vanilla game, and have every reason to believe that it's caused by the mod. Hopefully you can look into this.
