Regulator breeder

  • This breeder was inspired by ccrraazzyyman's breeder and Farrk's idea to use Regulator from RP to control reactor.

We have a stack of 32 ice in breeder, and Regulator keeps it at around this, so we always have exactly one stack of ice at exactly same place. And don't pay much attention at fine-tuning timers. We just treat reactor as having inherent 300 cool, plus whatever ice and air provide.

That lets us automatize replacement of other elements.

Re-enriched are automatically replaced with new isotopes, using Filter and Detector. If uranium cell is turned to near-depleted, it is removed too.

    Usage is following.

Put some power into MFE, so there is some buffer of ice and energy. Fill input chest with isotopes.
Fill reactor as shown on picture, then let it run cold for several minutes, so isotopes de-synchronise a bit. Then dump 6 buckets of lava.
When cycle is done, last bunch of isotopes will be nearly, but not quite charged. It is ok, because it leaves us nice spots to shift-click uranium in.

Each consecutive cycle - put 6 uranium, then 6 lava buckets.

Each cycle gives you 48 charged cells.

There should be exactly 8 cells of water under reactor.

There is one problem, though - reactor loses a lot of heat each time cell is replaced, about 22 per cell, and there are 48 of them. More is lost, if they are charged at the same second. But if replacement time is short, and they are de-synchronized, you will still have 9k+ at the end of cycle.
