I crashed trying to open a wireless receiver GUI:

What's the aromatic hammer for? And for the axle textures, would you change the block model so it looks more like an axle, like making it a 4x4 or 8x8 rectangle rather than a whole solid block? Like cables are.

I'm sure that's how people put UU liquid into the world, as I understand being in the stuff gives regen

Right clicking on the ground with a cell of it will work too

Not aware of a use for basalt yet.

    Building, but that's it.

If I'm not mistaken the flood gate isn't willing to create new source blocks of liquid above it's own level, but it certainly makes them pile up below itself.

Yeah, the floodgate will fill up to the level it's on, but not higher.

Also the rods seem to be lasting a VERY long time, I think much longer than the 2 hours and 46 minutes projected by the Java app.

They last twice as long as the planner says now. That was one of the experimental changes.

But using biogas instead of steam with a 5x5 is quite a cool idea, probably a lot cheaper in survival than the huge iron costs for steam too.

Steam no, it's an overused idea to use steam as a power source, and IC2's steam fits into the game differently. Early game machine however I do think is a good idea. Personally, I'd go with using the heat machines in order to start off, as they don't need redstone (just iron, copper and rubber) as well as not being affected from another mod (think of all the ones that add steam). It also stops you from having big fluid lines early on, as it would force machines to each have their own heat generator, or I guess they could transfer heat between themselves, but that could be laggy in big set-ups, so maybe just sticking with the 1 heat conductive face is a good idea.

But eventually, old players will leave; yet no more new players are joining this game or mod anymore... That will be the end, an unhappy end..

That is already what has happened/is happening. You weren't around during Industrial Rage and stuff? The user base has more than halved since then (it's sadly closer to 1/3). This has already happened, it's too late to overhaul IC2 a second time (look where it got us the first). Our best chance is to fix what we have, concentrate on the E-net, mainly cable melting/shocks/explosions to get what people really liked about IC2 (apart from the people that complained about it just before it got removed) back.
