I am even not too lazy to start a discussion with you instead of actually reading the changelogs now. Despite the fact the you pretty sure will not answer my question.
I am too lazy to read the changelogs, Greg, are you still messing with lowtech survival stuff?

GREG MOD COMPLETE WHEN
Ok, I'm exhausted.
I'm trying to make a flint and tinder. I have no iron or steel and no way to the nether so no nether quartz.
This leaves quartzite, certus quartz and jasper. After hours of searching I've found all three ores. The only problem is that
they now only drop crushed ore and according to the changelog the only way to process these to the gems is with a sifter.
On the last play-through that wasn't a problem and I found a few chipped jaspers eventually. But this time, I'm stuck.
Now, "There are NO Tech Loops EVER", so there is probably a simple solution that I haven't considered:
Firstly, is there another way to light the firebox?
I've found a "match" item in NEI, is there a way to craft these yet?
Is there another way to obtain gems without a sifter?
Are there non-craft-grid (and hence non-NEI) steps that I've missed? A tool I can use on the crushed gem ore perhaps?
Any help? (I greatly prefer answers that don't rely on village or dungeon loot.)
Aside: I've absolutely loved the previous iterations of GregTech, and for the most part I can handle the
"technically-not-a-tech-loop-because-theres-one-obscure-point-of-entry" progression. But honestly, that kind of situation
often felt more like a symptom of the mod being a work-in-progress than a meaningful challenge. For me, GregTech was
always at it's best when it made everything slower, harder and grindier, then gave the player the tools to develop smarter,
faster, more efficient and more automated alternatives - "making things easier the hard way". Trying to guess the often
undocumented and occasionally counter-intuitive loop entry points was never my idea of fun. I've been getting a growing
sense with GT6 that this is actually an intended part of the game... But it is one thing to let a player try solutions to
problems looking for one that might work and quite another to force players to try solutions that should work looking
for the one that was actually implemented in code.
What direction is GT6 going in? Will these loop entry points be blurred out by more content? Or will they be played up
as intended features and barriers to progression? For example, is lighting the firebox *supposed* to be hard, or is there
an early game fire-lighter coming in a future update?
Your concerns are justified in every way. But lets hope its going to go in the right direction.
That's exatly the point, the food update was the beginning of the apocalypse.
Non-Automated? I am working on making things easier to automate right now. The Cover System, Pipes, Basic Machines, all of that stuff is definitely not low level and can also be automated.
And GT4 is basically the same as other Tech Mods nowadays. If you wanna have GT4 then use TE instead, they adopted a similar Style, just with a few less Machines. And BloodyAsps GT5U is also a good alternative.
Also I don't do this for the Audience, I do it because it is fun for me to do it.
I never said you do it for the audience
Also, your reasoning goes "if you want the old coca cola, drink pepsi".
I still say that you lost the audience after GT4 and should return to it rather then insisting on focusing on lowlevel nonautomated grind.
no it is not. I'm just busy trying to code the cover system back, if you would read the changelog
I am aware of your progress, but someone has to be pessimistic. At least I will be able to say "I told ya all so".
gt is ded
Imho, the bc fluid mechanic still stays the simplest to understand, and the most comfortable to use.
I hear the word pipes? WORKING pipes?
You sound very optimistic.
Where do you think we are?
You can try to pretend you are not avoiding reimplem, eting, but we both know you do in fact avoid it
Make minecraft great again, dammit!
Greg, concentrate on reimplementing, my honest advice. I don't even play anymore, but it will end the same as gt5, if you don't. Implement base game first, then think of new exciting stuff.
Ranks are overrated. We rather should have a shitpost/normal post ratio rank system.
If this time you will implement stuff without dropping it halfway off I will personally donate 10$ again. It finally looks like you are awaken again.
Nether granite was my suggestion
garnet gems were my suggestion
UBC grinding was my suggesstion
Basalt and marble was my suggestion a year ago (although greg would have added this anyway, i did propose it to him long ago
Please, take your time to get accustomed to the rules and ways of this forum, and take your time writing properly. The only thing why you have not gotten banned already is because greg is melancholical lately and is letting to much bullshit slip which clearly violates all thinkable restrictions.
And one last question, anyone got this working with PFAA? Maybe some configs or anything?
Eh, which ic2 should I use? Simply the recent one?
