Amusing... *rubs chin*
Currently, this is about impossible without base file modification and intense cpu/video card (?) usage.
On top of this being limited by the limits of the Minecraft lighting engine.

Isn't that due to a bug in vanilla minecraft? Jeb mentioned in the anvil update post and the 1.2 changelog that the game engine still thinks that blocks with an id > 256 are items.
Yeah, i think that's the case.
^ This. If Al and the devs were to make the cables compatible with the RP2 microblocks, then IC2 would NEED the RP2 core mod in order to function.
Or better yet, screw the whole regulating temperature in a certain area, make it so that the heating block melts snow and ice in a substantially larger range than torches, glowstone, or the new lamps all the while being fed EU? And the cooling one will slowly create snow and ice while being fed EU as well?
EDIT: I know some of these points are redundant as they're already brought up in the OP.
Forge is updated? Sweet, now I can get to the mod I was going to work on.
Nope. Remember this mod needs ModLoader (already 1.2.3 compatible), ModLoaderMP, and Forge to be updated. You'll have to wait.
Wow. Now we can automatically create alloy dust inside the Macerator? Now that's a god send, thanks AtomicStryker!
Well, it seems that Risugami has pushed out a 1.2.3 ModLoader for us. Now to wait on ModLoaderMP and Forge...
so i could go in and change my Grassland Biomes to Mushroom Biomes and only Mooshrooms would spawn there?
Basically. If I understand what Jeb has said about the save changes.
I'm sorry but why is this bad for us? Bukkit being the team in charge of the new server.jar shouldn't effect any Forge mod in any drastic way. The only real "change" is that Forge will have to rewrite its SMP/SSP core to support the new jar.
Right now the server.jar doesn't do anything towards protecting from griefing, managing permissions, or provide any kind of security functions or anti-hacking, something Bukkit has always provided. Integration of Bukkit into Mojang should be heralded as a blessing for everyone, whether you think they or Spout should've gotten in doesn't matter, the fact that SOMEONE is dedicated to eradicating these issues in the core server.jar on an official level is a boon regardless.
In every server I've run I've never had a bad experience with Bukkit, and I don't honestly have anything but the highest hopes for it. They literally cannot do worse than what Notch did with the base server.jar.
Yeah, I agree with this. Bukkit was a layer of protection on top of the regular Minecraft sever jar, but now that the two levels are being combined into one, it ought to be easier to maintain a server.
The batbox can be mined up with a pickaxe; it will drop itself. As a general rule of thumb, if the block requires a machine block or an advanced machine block to craft, wrenching will dismantle it (Still with the chance of it breaking, though)
kinda too noisy..
to be honest its not like i dont like the noises coming from my workshop but to have it constantly going for 3+ hours while doing some cosmetic work on my base is getting quite aggrivating.
so if possible can there be a way to not have to hear the adv machines with out me turning down my speakers/mc's volume or maybe only have them produce sound when in actual operation and not when a rs signal is applied?
just a thought...
Agreed.
I saw your second episode, and don't let the lack of views get you down. The other day, I was searching through Direwolf20's earlier (and admittedly, crappier) videos, and they only have about 100 views each. Plus, they're about 2 years old. So, even if you get very small amounts of views off the bat, you never know, you may become as famous as the Yogscast or someone. Basically what I'm saying is don't make videos for the views, make them for yourself. I think it's great that you are making a LP, as I really respect your opinion on the more controversial topics on this forum. And another thing, you may want to add ComputerCraft to your mods list. Great job, and don't give up!
Thanks man. After I did the Biodiamonds addon vid, I wanted to give a LP a go in an attempt to see if I could muster enough courage to get out there and be more of an extrovert rather than what I usually am. If I do become THAT famous, it won't affect me too much honestly, I'm one of those few people (men, especially) that don't get terribly egotistical to the point of being intolerable. For me, I try to see where both sides of the topic are coming from, and judge the merits of the topic from there instead of jumping in blindfolded.
Computercraft will probably find it's way into my 1.2 LP once all of the mods I plan on using are updated, but until then... I'll probably get to recording Episode 3 tomorrow evening as school is beginning to pile up on me now, and hopefully have the episode uploaded by Friday if my internet doesn't bork on me.
I do have plans for dropping OmegaTech Industries at some point (might go out with one helluva bang
), but really, I want the community's input on that as I like to give people a chance to influence and perhaps increase their interest in what they see, if they know that they had a hand in it.
But really, thanks. That kind of thing makes me proud to be a Minecrafter/Industrialcrafter.
nope, see the mojang page.. it's bukkit only.
aka: bad news for the vast number of Forge mods.
Well, keep in mind that that might not be for a while. They're starting server side then progressing to SSP.
WARNING: 1.2 RELEASE INCOMING TOMORROW!!!
http://www.mojang.com/2012/02/minecraft-1-2-preview/
I'm already well that the article says "plan to release," just thought to hand out the warning to the Devs.
I on the other hand enjoy watching creepers running with terror from a lowly housecat. Oh, the hilarity.
Oh that will be insanely funny (secondary reason why I can't wait, first being the block ID's)
looking forward to 1.2 as long as it don't come for another month. Swamped with texture pack work atm :).
Also i hope more creatures mod uses some the mob AI
Possibly, the author will probably copy out the AI code and tweak it to each of the mobs. And, the only texture work (MC-wise) is the new lamps.
Good to know that this will be worked on, as I am currently putting together textures for my 1.2 Let's Play (Yes, I'm already planning though 1.2 is till some time away)
AlbOS prototypes already contains custom-rendered lists.
Storing "infinite" amounts of items within a TE isnt an issue either.Storing cropseeds in a special chest and accessing them via sorted lists > easyly possible.
Will take some time, time i currently don't have though ^^'
Well, good to know that it can be done, take your time Al.
