It doesnt work with covers, sadly. My setup doesnt use any GT pipes anymore, those are to buggy:

The turbines now work at full power output, also theri input hatches arent filling up, so it seems that they work perfectly with 40000mb/s each as it should. But why do i get to much steam and have a loss of distilled water?
Are you using a regulator on the LHE input? If the last LHE output hatch fills up it voids steam.
The sloshing does occur with one pipe. The fix is to use an EV pump on the output of the pipe. I tried two input hatches on the turbine in 5.08.29 and it wasn't working. I don't think pyure has fixed it yet.
GT pipes don't like AE2 input buses, but they like interface blocks.
Interfaces are having the issue.
I haven't tested it but my partner is reporting that item pipes no longer outputting to AE2 input buses.
So it appears that the item pipes are taking in items and they will drop them if broken but do not show them as having anything inside them when using a scanner. This happens in SMP but not SSP.

I think the "teach a man to fish" adage applies to GT multiblocks. The rules of a specific multiblock are in the tooltip (mouse over the machine in your inventory). Except for large turbines and fusion reactors the builder has a lot of freedom to place buses and hatches. Just following a set of instructions is very limiting. One good walkthrough or tutorial should be enough. In terms of construction at least. Actually using them is a bit more complicated...
Also the fusion reactor is pretty free too in that people think the two input hatches need to have a specific relative orientation and they don't.
Just some food for thought:
as long as processing arrays have a maintenance hatch I can't see why anyone would ever use them. The intent of them is to decrease server load on bases that want to do lots of processing (like not having 260 machines for one fusion reactor and 64 for ore processing) but if there is an actual chance for something like a fusion fuel production to not be rock solid I simply won't use it. With that in mind they don't seem to accomplish what they were designed to do.

I guess the only GT3 I played was my brief 1.5.10 crack pack stint? Idk it's all a blur at this point. I think that ended up being a buggy as hell pack with MFR ruining everything.
Oh and I forgot to list that I already hit the latest of games in GT5 vanilla in FTB ressurection when it first came out (likely one of the first in that pack). No one knew (and still don't know) about ZPM... When there's an SMP race it's a nice ace up your sleeve. Oh you're spamming solars? Guess what's behind that secretrooms door magically powering 8 EV mass fabs 
I nerfed the ZPM in my pack by making the IV transformer require an americium plate.
I remember getting GT3 fusion working way back in mindcrack 1.4.7 when I first started minecraft. Played a little crackpack 1.5.10 but interest died quick. In a DW 1.6.4 derivative I got GT4 fusion working. Fusion is usually what brings a stop to the binge for 6-12 months but GT5U adds a fair bit of stuff to play around with. It's not unreasonable to have over a dozen fusion reactors. The IDSU/tesseracts are the biggest things I miss. I also miss being able to have multiblocks of the same type share casings. That's just cool. Also the industrial grinder. I know there's all sorts of other machiens to replace it but it would be neat to have to make a multiblock to get some byproducts rather than just higher voltage single blocks.
I'm still waiting for someone to craft a ultimate battery in legit survival.
I made my own hard mode pack and am playing with one other person. I think it's more balanced than the folks playing infinitech but I can say I'm about two weeks from steady fusion. It's a loaded server so I may catch up and pass them quickly. Not that it's a race but it totally is. Whoever has the fullest battery when people stop caring wins.
Wait, an EBF gets faster with better hatches? Cool, i started planning a room with 16 EBFs, i can cut that down quite a bit...
All multiblocks follow the same OC rules. While handy in some cases energy efficiency trumps material efficiency in GT5.
tbh making machine arrays is very gratifying. The only issues the processing array really fixes is loss due to lower voltages (assuming you can feed processing arrays higher voltages and it will do transforming internally) and distributing materials evenly across machines. That last problem can be solved by using the psuedo round robin upgrade with extra utilities pipes (be sure to use the MT script to nerf the hell out of these). I haven't found a better way to do even item distribution than that.
Btw, fluid regulator set to some L/sec outputs liquids every tick. We can set speed in L/sec or L/tick, but it is speed, not frequency.
If this is the case then how much fluid goes through per tick when it's set to 30 mB/s? Does it alternate between 2 mB and 1 mB every tick?
Can't you make Multiblocks check hatches every second instead every tick?
Just adjust it to consume 20x per sec, instead 1x per tick.
That way the rate would still be the same, but the math would be easier, and would have less rounding.
And I could throw away my fluid regulators on a lava pool, and relay only on GT pipes to regulate the flow.
As we are now, the even the lowest tier input hatch can manage a Large Turbine...
Afaik the hatch and bus tiers all behave exactly the same. As long as they're big enough for your requirements and meet the multiblocks spec they should have the same throughput.
I've tested up to 32 B/s through an LV hatch (double its capacity). I haven't tried more yet though I'd be surprised if there was a limit to throughput based on size. I don't think it would be intentional at least.
I agree with switching to seconds because right now it's difficult to make the large turbines happy (though it can be done, just with very few options). I'm not sure I'd want to switch to just using GT pipes with no fluid regulators in any actual setup even if the math was done in mB/s though...
Could you add a better version of the fluid regulator? For optimal flow in my plasma generator i would have to input 1,47mb/t, but thats impossible with the IC2 one...
No but you can put in 30 mB/s which is only 2% off. Also the LHE rounds to the mB/s. I don't know if the turbines do as well but the actual desired optimal flow likely does so it should meet it.
I think the issue is mistaking the way one person spends their time is a democracy. It is the developer's choice and the community opinion does not matter. If you have suggestions or opinions share them but don't feel entitled to anything. Pyure has been adding content and fixes. If you like GT5U you should be massaging his feet rather than getting into petty arguments.

Ok so this is an LHE with 4 output hatches. I noticed an entire hatch was empty. That makes sense as to why one hatch appeared to be staying steady: because only three were outputting SHS. Thanks for the tips Pyure. Things are working as expected.
Ah that's what I didn't know: the rate is exposed when empty.
