It's going to be harder in 1.0, though - diamonds have been moved 2 levels lower, meaning they are very scarce above the lava layer and when they are found, it's more likely rhey will be in among bedrock. Consequently, it's tough as hell to find the number of diamonds you'll need.

It won't be so bad once IC2 makes the leap - at least, then, you can create them.

You may be judging everyone by one person.
Lets face it. These people die off by natural selection.

If it were just one person, that might be a valid point. But it's not - it's common and it's recurring!
Even if it's only a small portion of the populace, the damage they can do is disproportionately large.

And natural selection no longer applies to Mankind. Our greatest sin is that we overcame it. We put labels on hairdryers saying "Do not use while in shower" - the only purpose of this is to preserve the lives of the terminally stupid.
This means that stupid people survive long enough to breed, to pass on their traits to their offspring, and to make reality television shows.

That's what I've been doing. And I have been using them for tools, precisely because I don't have IC2 on my 1.0 world and cannot make diamonds or rechargeable tools.
Apparently, Mojang changed the diamond generation in 1.0 worlds - they spawn lower than before and are a pain to find. I've managed to acquire 22 so far, half of which went into my Quarry. Add in a handsaw, refinery, and a logger for my tree farm and I'm down to one. I need at least 7 more to make my cactus and sugarcane collectors.

Every time I find a gem in my 1.0 RP world, I can't help but think "That could have been something more useful... like a diamond"

Gem tools are nice, considering that I'm positively STARVING for diamonds there... but so far, they are a largely unnecessary addition to the game.

I'm just a little skeptical - someone signs up just to post a fix and then someone else signs up just to "verify" that it works?

Proceed with caution. If it's legit, that's great... but I'll wait until it's vetted by a reliable source, thanks.

Yeah, I just blocked him now - he can talk to himself for all I care. He doesn't want to understand, he just wants attention.
He can get it from Mom and Dad - they obviously owe him for many years of holding back.

They might still miss it - I saw someone on the RedPower thread on MVF asking where the 1.0 release was. If Eloraam had made the link any bigger in the OP, it would have needed two pages.

If there's one thing I learned in 5 years with Microsoft, it's that no one ever went broke over-estimating the stupidity of the average user.

Look - i told you that you can be right and you still don't seem to understand.
So the real issue is that you obviously don't comprehend simple English - so kindly shut up and go away.

You're not satisfied with being right, so don't talk to me about trolling. You're not even on-topic here. If you want to continue, talk to yourself in the proper topic.

yes you can make rubber with rp2 rubber trees - i do it all the time now i farm those trees and put them into the extractor. Im sure you could just save the rubberwood and then use it when ic2 comes out for 1.0.

To make an extractor, you need a Circuit. To make a circuit, you need 6 rubber.
Therefore, unless and until you can find IC2 Rubber Trees to tap, you cannot make rubber from RP2 Rubber Wood.
    Is the issue clearer now?

A 32 EU packet isn't going to make the trip from the build limit to sea level on anything BUT glass fiber. You really want to step it up.
I agree that glass fiber is kind of prohibitively expensive to use with a wind farm - 16 diamonds for wind power seems like an absurd expense. Might as well just build the transformers instead, or use a different form of energy.

FnordMan's suggestion is the optimal one - and it's the way I've got mine wired as well.
