MatLaPatate, right, mod exists: custom stuff. But the idea of a matter is to craft all other resources from it. Strangely enough, it is so, except uranium and quartz.

I just had a simpler idea. For quartz.
Quartz could be macerated into quartz dust, and the chemicals in regular quartz could be extracted and used and etc., but since it is nether quartz, it is created with lava. (nether = lava) Quartz created like that, near lava and under pressure, can sometimes contain gold, like the gold mined during the California Gold Rush. So maybe, could Quartz Dust then be centrifuged into gold dust and refined quartz dust? Like, 8 Quartz dust -> 7 Refined Quartz Dust & 1 Gold dust?
That would be cool.
You know that Glowstone is plenty in the nether and that you can extract lots of 8 gold dust/8 redstone from every 16 dusts right?
For neodymium magnets, rare earth extractors, using dirt/cobblestone and will take lots of them and energy to extract a piece "rare earth" which can be used to make magnets.

that is one of the major reasons that armies will never really work on a large scale in minecraft. Such things would require huge amounts of time to calculate, and won't be practical

Each "soldier" would be expensive, requiring weapons, food, armor ...
Currently, there is NO IC² addon that is intended to work only for weapons.
Really, I wish i could use all modern weapons, like automated guns and nuclear/biological/chemical warfare, causing devastation to everything!
The only problem about Minecraft is the lack of armies, aka enough players to create a real war.
There could be an addon that allowed us to create entire armies of soldiers, spies, pilots, whatever people is needed in a war, everything controlled by AI, following your orders.
For example, A multiblock machine that allows the training and creation of soldiers, armed with weapons you create through military industries.
AI combats, different behavior with different weapons, different targets, better/lower effectiveness due terrain (biome)...
Anyway, thats just an idea which would fit the industrial concept, but it needs an insane amount of work to make it reality (code-wise).

It is pretty obvious that he would disable cheaty devices that allows transmutations, even if not "equivalent".
You can even make a seed farm (wheat) which is a secret fertilizer.
You are not wrong, but its side-effects would promote mob farms, which would be very bad, expecially for servers.

Cheaty? It is the best way to make energy from single block windmills, by analyzing their mechanics and engineering them.
Compact windmills currently has no complex mechanic for production (doesnt care about wind), no breaking due overproduction ( EU/t > 5X, with X being the respective number of windmills compacted).
another difference is item ID conflicts don't cause a crash like a block ID conflict, just weird behaviors.
like item overriding and causing X recipe to produce Y.

That error given is different, and it will cause items to override each other.
Basically, you can fix both the same way, by changing the IDs that conflicts (have the same number duh) on the configs of the mods.
Meh, I'm actually the opposite. If it's not possible with BuildCraft, then it's not worth doing. I should probably add that I've still not found anything that I can't automate with BuildCraft. Many things might be difficult, but that's what makes it fun. Using for example AE instead would cheapen the reward.
Buildcraft may be what can automate most things, but it is not user/server friendly as it is not fail-safe and WILL eventually cause problems due overflows and excessive amounts of items flowing in pipes.
Also BC can be completely substituted by AE and mostly by GT.
2000 blocks with a full inventory and 4 pieces of armor is 10 million EU. Quite expensive when you think about it, given the fact that with a qsuit, you can go 2k blocks in 1-2 minutes and for 50k eu.
If you think that teleporters are well balanced, then you should make the qsuit slower and take 100 times as much power to sprint/jump. AKA draining the suit in 2-3 minutes of sprinting. Because ATM, I'd rather not spend 10 million EU for 2 minutes of travel.
Whoever has an UUM factory doesnt care about energy costs, but time.
But Flux doesn't make anything
And using TC3 you can actually have even funnier exploits, like turning cobble into ... Sulfur. (Using furnaces. But you'll get tons of Flux, if you care about ^^)
Sulfur? Who needs that? Gunpowder is better.
32 cobblestone + 5 vis for 1 gunpowder (6 cobble for 6 fractus and 24 cobble [3 furnaces] for 6 ignis).

Insert Hydrogen, get any element you want based on number of hydrogen inserted and consume/produce power based on the element size.
Another thing is that TT-TC3 transmutation is based on aspects, so you can't transmute for example a million cobble into something very expensive.
To get a diamond with it you need the following aspects 16 purus (16 quartz), 16 carus (16 smooth sandstone) and 48 victrus (16 glass). That would produce lots of flux with leftover aspects.
