Use vanilla gold and iron blocks (the ones you get by compressing 9 ingots). GT ores will not work for that purpose.
-
Ferru and Aurelia are the only ones that needs iron/gold ore (or blocks) below them to mature.
GregTech crops does not have any special condition.

Thanks for such a great answer spawn. Two follow ups.
1. Pure force of fertilizer can overwhelm insufficient soil blocks and imperfect biome? Or it's something like Biome*Soil*fertilizer = nutrient value and each multiplier has it's own maximum.
Overwhelm? Not really, each of the + or - contribute to increase or decrease the total amount of nutrients/hydration/air quality, affecting the growth speed individually.
You could have a fertilized/hydrated farm in an insufficient soil land and imperfect biome, but the crops wouldnt grow as fast as if they had the perfect conditions.
2. Where does the "irrigation" terraformer fit into all of this? It says that it makes crops grow faster, but is that merely a matter of "hydration" that can be satisfied by crop-matrons anyway?I can't answer about the irrigation terraformer as it is a very old piece of a thing. I don't know how much it affects the crops nowadays, if it even does.

Spawn what about this business of "air quality"? Supposedly crops positioned way up high, and crops with x amount of open air spaces above them have better air quality.
1.What are the rules on this?Crops air quality is affected by three things.
+ air quality depending on height it is planted. Maximum air quality by height is at Y 128.
+ air quality if the crop can see the sky (must not have opaque blocks above it)
- air quality depending on the amount of crops and blocks nearby. While i'm at it:
Crops nutrient is affected by two things.
+ nutrient based on the amount of dirt below the farmland (up to three blocks of dirt below the farmland, totalizing 4 dirt blocks)
+ nutrient if the crop is being fed fertilizerCrops humidity is affected by three things.
+ humidity if the crop farmland is wet.
+ humidity if the crop is being fed water via cropmatron or hydration cell
+/- humidity based on the biome the crop is. (best is swamp/jungle, worst is desert/ice , forest is in the mid-term +)2.What bonus does it give?
The same bonuses nutrients and humidity gives. Crops grow faster.
3.Can low air quality be nullified with enough water and fertilizer in crop-matron, or this is separate?
Crops growth are based on the sum of hydration, nutrients and air quality (combined later with the growth stat).
Increasing enough hydration/nutrient will "nullify" the problem of low air quality. -
Uh, right. Its not "entirely", but you don't have direct relation between species.
Tiers and properties are what matters. Stats (growth, gain and resistance) are irrelevant (to mutation).
-
Keep trying, its entirely random. Eventually you'll obtain it. Also, use coppon + coppon. Tine is a tier below slimeplant.
-
I recall obtaining it on the 5k post mark. There isn't anything above for now.
-
I have the 3 macerator rank indeed. Its 5k posts, you're not that far from it chocohead.
-
You can only delete your own posts, not the thread (it will remain with the second post as the OP).
However I can delete it or move it to the suggestion section if you think I should do so.

All that hassle when we can just get some ferru. or some cheap tine and then transmute to iron.
-
True, but we could do something similar to how the sync mod works (you need an existing body "capsule" to revive on hardcore) together with biomechanical replacements/augments.
-
Be able to crash through anything would be marvelous, even rocks or solid concrete (Construction foam) if we are fast enough.
With a quantum/nano suit we could possibly survive, although i won't say that we would be in a good state.I think that we take the human body too lightly on minecraft, why only hitpoints? One could damage several parts of the body separately, hindering movements or other problems.
Imagine if you had to use an eletric wheelchair because your legs got blast off in a creeper explosion or something like. You could still build and do stuff "normally", but your movements would be severely hindered without a jetpack or any other omnidirectional flight method. -
You should play without PFAA (also COG) and UB (those have no benefit to the gameplay, actually they are a bit problematic nowadays), aswell edit the configs to ease the gameplay to your liking.
-
Not directly related, anyone up to the test if they can make a new thread on the GT section now?
-
1. You should be fine on peaceful, you'll miss mob drops, but GT crops are there to aid you.
2. fast leaf decay may work on single player. -
I would laugh if that happened. Why only vertical speed has to be harmful
-
Then, try copying the custom modpack the kirara server has. It has a bit more than 20 but not a hundred like the usual modpacks.
