uhm.. do you mean certain? -
couldn't you just.. i don't know.. change the worldgen directly? Maybe make only one biome generate(like desert), so that no planbts grow, then change worldgen to the desired? I have no idea of minecraft modding, so i don't know how much effort it would be, but many maps use changed world generation, and heck, there is a mod that allows you to change the biome of something IN GAME.

EDIT: Nobody can say computer games are useless NOW!
EDIT2: That one's just interesting because of the 7th last frequency.

I know. but I fail to get 5k delta-v in a craft consisting of a tylo and a laythe lander, a vall lander and 2 pol and bop landers(interchangeable, as they have very similar delta-v requirements), and a crew compartment for getting back. mainly because i have to launch the thing, too. I think I'll build a ExL on the mun first.
EDIT: you play ksp, inucune? nice.
-
free for everyone.. does that mean there's a whitelist, but you just have to ask to be added to it, or is it public? because if it is public, you need some grief protection plugin as it is pretty much impossible to keep track of griefers, and the only thing you can do when you notice one is a ban, really.
-
So I try to do a jool mission, but fail at the 5k delta-v required to get their, as i want to send landers for all 5 moons, otherwise it would be boring. maybe I'll just do a "proof of concept" for what i told a friend of mine when we were speculating about what we would do in case of a zombie apocalypse.
Oh, and something funny to make the post in any way interesting.(may have to scroll down a bit)

(as far as i know) you can't turn hot coolant directly into power, but you can turn it into heat in the liquid heat exchanger(and get coolant out without a loss), which can be converted into eu by using heat-based generators.(I know of steam, with the boiler, have no idea how to get superheated steam, biomass(biochaff(got by macerating plants, i think, and heat in a fermenter(and maybe water don't know about that, get you biomass or something like that(don't know the name right now), which can be burned in semifluid generators. also, you can use the stirling generator to transform heat to eu directly, but that is less efficient from what I've gathered. Also, biomass is more efficient than steam)
-
didn't you need something annyoing like dirt for ethanol? don't quite remember.
-
oh, i remember how i felt when i saw the ore output from the extractor?(don't remember the exact name right now, think it was something like that). ore quintupling is fun XD
-
or you go for biomass. that requires lots of plants and lots of fermenters and liquid heat exchangers, but apparently it gets a lot more power out than steam, and you don't have to deal with calcification from what i've gathered.

creative is for testing/playing around. survival is about working for what you have, accomplishing something. if (at least that''s the case for me) i want to seriously play survival(not the semi-creative i do as i hate plaaing in creative), cheating just makes it boring. so there actually is a point in not cheating when plaing survival, otherwise it is boring.

cut out the lamp, you don't need that. and is that even still possible with ee3 not being so OP anymore? though there is project exchange now.. and it gets you totally crazy yield, i built one once when i played the ftb pyramid map.
-
more OP than ee2 darkroom setups?

a simple, efficient and relativelyy strong reactor design is several fuel rods in one corner, and all the other slots are filled with overclocked heat vents and component heat exchangers to balance the heat inbetween them. It has the advantage to be simple(aka hard to mess up) and on all the time, while still producing a decent chunk of power.
like here (i hope the link works, the browser version doesn't work for me)
-
yeah, gain should come last. and it is absolutely insane. i mean, 3 to 4 wheat per growth cycle out of a plant, after 3 or 4 crossbreeds aka AT MOST 3 or 4 gain, is slightly overpowered i think.
-
okay, so mob grinder in deep ocean on top of the world = profit. good to know.
-
to be more exact about the 5*5 reactor, it uses coolant and outputs hot coolant(who would've guessed), which you can use in liquid heat exchangers and get coolant out again. you can then use the heat to make eu, or steam, or biomass(biomass being the most effective i think, but it requires a good supply of plants to make it), and the 5*5 is in general more efficient than the normal reactor. I don't know how to set it up, though, but i think there is a thread somewhere which explains how it is done.
-
lighting up caves is definitely a cheat to me - a), it gives you torches(which are renewable resources, but meh), b), you can just build the mobgrinder on top of an ocean(i think, deep ocean was the thing without mob spawns, right?), as there isn't any ground for the mobs to spawn on there but for the grinder. Also, as you said, you could have used a terraformer.
For the Biome thing, exploring can be a nuisance, so i don't think it is that bad. You could've changed the biom(in a small area) with blood magic, but that would've required a lot of infrastructure to be set up and cost a lot of stuff.

there's always a good chance to get one of the plants you crossbred, so it is better to try breeding the stickreed. don't know aboput seedpouches, but if i recall correctly, they had a chance of dropping.
