I don't get why you use a miner. It sucks, and this idea sucks.
using the work sucks more that once per sentence doesn't help the counter argument. a better one would be "use a batpack in the battery slot"

until thaumcraft showed off its fancy goggles huds were believed to be impossible/impractical to implement. of course now things are a different story
Passinglurker, what's with your Scoringsystem for predenied Suggestions?
thanks for reminding me (lets see carry the 3 add 2 eggs beat swiftly fold lengthwise short pins 4 and 37 and divide by the tastiness of 72% dark chocolate) done! here is the score
use/100
better/100
grammar/100
well thats odd...
My first suggestion was a molten electrolyzer that turned cobblestone into metals, but then I realized (after being flamed worse than in a medic vs pyro match in TF2) that it's completely redundant with recyclers, scrapboxes, and mass fabrication.
I've said it before and i'll say it again
lava -> metal GOOD
cobble -> metal BAD
normally i frown on totally going crazy on new people but...
yet another idea, power surges, EV is emited into cable when lightning strikes it, use same detector code as presureplate, just for entitylightning;
WE GOT A LIVE ONE HERE ! All units converge on my target and UNLEASH FLAME
! send him back to the n00b pit that he crawled from!
NO LIGHTNING RODS!
I like the idea of some kind of external/block heat disperser...
you mean like this? https://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page…d&threadID=6462
I call shenanigans on passinglurker scale, Devs doesn't give a flying fuck about recipes why should we?
i believe a denied suggestion should be resurrected if the suggester puts enough effort into making his pitch. a recipe is not required for a full 100 points on the presentation score but it shows they spent more than 5 seconds thinking about the suggestion before posting hence why they get points for it.
no way... first idea and it fails and 2 people plans to
fuckingmake me look bad...fuckinghell seriously how am i supposed what the recipe is
1st. Watch your language
2nd. If you want to bring up a suggestion that has been denied before. Then you need to put at least some effort into it if you want me to support it. so use your imagination
Display MoreHow about I fix this thread...
This is the recipe
= n/a
= carbon fibers
requires eu to use, has a aim, doesn't affect players, can one shot a zombie, and it runs out of eu on the 20th shot but it can be powered by the lappack only.
The main reason it was suggested because I wanted a bow that didn't wear out and didn't require an enchantment (I hate enchanting), and was day dreaming about one shoting zombies in style!
There fixed.
hmmm
thought out: 10/100, has provided numbers and mechanics but little explanation as to why these are good
presentation: 20/100, has a recipe and inspiration I may just want to build one of these
uniqueness: 70/100, bonus points for being the most unique tech-bow I've seen yet. I like how like the modern bow these are useless outside of hunting it will also mean I won't be shooting by buddy in the back when we go spelunking
all totaled you get 100points the highest score since the intro of this scoring system congratulations!
i think that deserves a +1
(note: scoring 100 won't guarantee a +1 in the future)
ok no one seems to have suggested fiber bow and i think it whould be a great idea idk how the recipe is going to be made but a fiber bow whould fit perfectly into IC2 think about it A NEW BOW TO MINECRAFT!
i know this isn't very detailed but it was just an idea that just suddenly came while playing
ok time to whip out the lurker's repeat suggestion scoring system this scoring system is made up of 3 categories how well the idea is thought out, how well the idea is presented, and how unique this idea is from previous rejected versions. if you score high enough you gain my support(note I do not use this scoring system on NEW and ORIGINAL ideas)
thought out: 0/100, no details other than "its a bow"
presentation: 0/100, didn't even post a recipe
uniqueness: 0/100, didn't say anything that hasn't been said before and as a result doesn't overcome alblaka's ban on weapon suggestions
it appears you scored a 0 in all 3 categories so unfortunately I'm going to have to vote no.
-1
Yeah we both know it's not IRL, but my point is still the same, in this application you would not build a reactor when a much simpler battery would suffice.
the reactor is just a core and as a result is much simpler
IRL i wouldn't be building any power source that needs radioactive materials
It could be recrafted with the Uranium Cell like the CF Sprayer then.
A source of inspiration and a recipe is a lot more than most suggestions are posted with here, I also did ask for input at the end of my original post.
This is a nuke battery no doubt about it, that's exactly what makes it special. I think it makes perfect sense, especially for an application like the miner. I would rather craft the RTG and use it rather than enable MFSU in miner in the config file.
this scoring system is for repeat suggestions not brilliantly simple new ideas if you score high enough in these 3 categories then i would consider the suggestion worthy of resurrection and support it other wise its my opinion that the suggestion should be rejected for the same reason that the previous versions of the suggestion were rejected.
also why not just craft a single chamber mk1 reactor on site?
I don't really agree with the suggestion either but the logic of it does make sense:
IRL I don't have an induction furnace in my kitchen, but if did and I also had a nuclear reactor in there which generated some excess heat it makes sense that the induction furnace could utilize the heat from the reactor to maintain it's heat level.Again I really don't think this is a great suggestion, but at the same time I don't think every new member that posts an unpopular idea needs bashed like this.
you would have better luck selling the idea of induction furnaces submerged in lava to maintain their heat level.
I normally tell every one to back off on the n00b bashing when the memes start flying but we are all human and are subject to inconsistent behavior. getting the grumpy end of the stick is part of the risk a noob takes when they introduce themselves to a new community
here is how i rate this suggestion
thought out: 0/100, compressors only have one input how am i supposed to put a uranium cell and this battery in there at the same time? no hard numbers have been worked out at all.
presentation: 10/100, you gave us your source of inspiration(+5), and a recipe(+5) everything else is lacking i have no urge to run out and build this
unique spin: 0/100, this is either a nuke battery or a simplified reactor both of which have been rejected already. I don't see anything special about it.
The self policing policy is a self proclaimed "asshole" that brags about waiting for his next victim in his profile? FenixR is a troll. How does Posting rude and insulting comments on almost every thread created on the forum help anything?
I've seen real trolls and fenixr isn't one of them. a troll is manipulative, deceptive, and once they find a button to push they turn abusive. they will stoke the fire and keep the emotionally charged discussion running for as long as possible to feed their desire for attention. fenixr on the other hand while rude is also direct, blunt, and honest about what he thinks, and goes for the heart of the issue to end it quickly.
I understand not everyone is going to like all suggestions but we don't need to be rude insulting and childish when we respond to ideas we don't like.
every one escalates their opposition when some one stands by their idea despite the flaws pointed out, its only natural. so if you can't take the heat then get out of the kitchen.
P.S. 1000th post http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pToHAd2Ns2U
Also, a new rule:
Lightningrod suggestion = Get impaled by said lightning rod then smote with lighting by the almighty dragon lord.
i believe the call that murder IRL
this snapshot also added trap rigged jungle temples it seems that every biome may get some sort of unique generated structure at this rate
Display MoreNeat crossover idea.
The biggest caveats I see are
- If you have the block create coal or another item, then the heater becomes a poor-man's mass fabricator.
- Since the point is to make it 'burnable', it would be burnable in a generator. You would have to make sure that the EU generated in the generator wouldn't exceed the cost to heat the item.
If I may offer a possible implementation?
- Lava cell into Extractor --> Depleted Heater Cell
- Depleted Heated Cell into Heater --> Heater Cell
- Heater Cell is a burnable like a lava bucket in that it will return the 'empty bucket' (ie, a new deplete heater cell)
*shrug* Thought it would be an interesting parallel with creating a cooling cell.
If you wanted another use for the cell, perhaps it would behave similarly as lava bucket does in a reactor; likewise leaving a depleted cell rather than an empty bucket.
Is this useful towards what you were thinking?
1. that's why the hot air item is so crippled it would be more trouble than its worth to be used in any way other than what is intended
2. that's a given hot air would not be able to be used to make a perpetual motion device
1. maybe but I thought furnaces don't handle containers if you burn a bucket of lava in a furnace then you burn the bucket with it. right?
Induction furnace heating up next to, and absorbing heat from a reactor is a good idea! Here's one thing that needs heat and another with excess heat, it's a no brainier!
FenixR is an idiot, it's not his mod or his forum but you'll see he acts like it is and is extremely rude to everyone especially people with good ideas! I've never participated in a forum with so many openly rude and for no reason mean to new people with good ideas, maybe he's butt hurt he didn't think of it or he thinks his opinion is the only one that matters, either way if I were you and you suggest a good idea like this one, ignore the trolls, nothing seems to upset them more than a good idea!
its not a good idea and you are stooping below fenixR's level. reactors that emit enough heat to affect nearby machinery are usually the kind that should be heavily shielded I would prefer not to encourage any nuke using neighbors i may have to compromise their reactor shielding so they can have a slightly more efficient furnace.
p.s. I've said it before(during the last "Y U NO UPDATE?" rush). FenixR is part of our self policing system if you are not mature enough or emotionally stable enough to handle what he dishes out then you should leave
We don't try to "improve" bad ideas, we let them rot in the floor where they belong.
I prefer to talk some ideas to the best they can be to show that they will never work(they stay dead longer as a result). its like if outright denying a idea is leaving it on the floor to rot then finding the best way to do it and finding that it still won't work is like throwing the idea off a skyscraper, jumping off after it, and then paldrivering it in to a busy street during a cement truck parade
