You did put the crops near water, right?

Since there seems to be interest in this, I figured starting to define some reactions/uses is perhaps a good idea.
For now exact numbers (balance) and how (what reactors used, user actions required, etc.) are irrelevant, but rather we should just aim to brainstorm some reactions we want.
Again, they need not be specifically 'chemical' in nature (Food and beverage reactions, or ore smelting reactions, or even WMD is all fine). So, for round 1 (Brainstorming) of the design process, I'll start off with some reactions.
Bread Baking:Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Bread Inputs: Water + Wheat Reaction: Wheat -> Flour Flour + Water -> Dough Dough -> Bread Reason: Because pounding three wheat bundles into a baked loaf of bread on a wooden workbench just seems odd. Description: Wheat is somehow ground, then mixed with water, then finally baked. To make it worth while to use, maybe end up with 1 bread per 2 wheat instead of 3? Maybe allow similar reaction for making cake and cookies, also producing a bit more per input than just crafting would.
Copper from Sand:
Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Copper Inputs: Sand + Water Reaction: Sand + Water -> Slurry Copper Slurry Copper -> Copper Reason: Because I never know what to do with all that sand, dirt and cobblestone until I get a recycler... or four. Description: Sand is turned into Slurry Copper in some reactor, which can then be smelted (furnace or whatnot) into copper. Lots of sand required for one copper, so mining is still a faster/better way to get copper.
Tin from Dirt:
Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Tin Inputs: Dirt + Water Reaction: Dirt + Water -> Slurry Tin Slurry Tin -> Tin Reason: Because I never know what to do with all that sand, dirt and cobblestone until I get a recycler... or four. Description: Dirt is turned into Slurry Tin in some reactor, which can then be smelted (furnace or whatnot) into Tin. Lots of dirt required for one tin, so mining is still a faster/better way to get tin.
Iron and Redstone from Cobblestone:
Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Iron + Redstone Inputs: Cobblestone + Water Reaction: Dirt + Water -> Slurry Iron + Redstone Sediment Slurry Iron -> Iron Redstone Sediment -> Redstone Reason: Because I never know what to do with all that sand, dirt and cobblestone until I get a recycler... or four. Description: Cobblestone is turned into Slurry Iron and Redstone Sediment in some reactor, which can then be smelted (furnace or whatnot) into Iron and Redstone. Lots of Cobblestone required for one Iron and redstone, so mining is still a faster/better way to get Iron and Redstone. Also, given cobblestone can be 'generated' rather easily, EU cost (as Heat+ added) should be high.
Uranium from Uranium Ore:
Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Uranium Inputs: Uranium Ore + Water + Redstone + Eggs + Milk + Sugar Reaction: Uranium Ore + Water -> Slurry Uranium Slurry Uranium + Eggs + Milk + Sugar -> Uranium Cake Uranium Cake + Redstone -> Concentrated Uranium Cake Concentrated Uranium Cake + Water -> Wet Uranium Cake Wet Uranium Cake -> Uranium Reason: To have an example of a more complex reaction, that is split-able. Description: Uranium Ore is turned into slurry in some reactor. The slurry is mixed with egg, sugar and milk and somehow baked to get Uranium cake (Puntastic but not edible). Uranium Cake is then mixed with redstone, giving concentrated uranium cake. The concentrated uranium cake is then mixed with water, giving wet uranium cake, that can be centrifuged to give uranium. This bonus of this long-way-around for processing uranium is that you get more uranium per uranium ore block mined than the 'normal' method.
XP from Zombie-Meat:
Code
Display MoreEnd Product: XP Inputs: Rotting Flesh + Water + Wooden Sword Reaction: Rotting Flesh + Water -> Tha-Unspeakable-Brew Tha-Unspeakable-Brew + Wooden Sword -> Tha-Thrice-slain-Abomination Tha-Thrice-slain-Abomination -> XP Reason: Because this is brainstorming and nearly anything goes. Description: Zombie meat is mixed with water, giving Tha-Unspeakable-Brew, which is a high exo-thermic reaction (Read 'Kaboom'-in-a-few-batches). Tha-Unspeakable-Brew is thrown into a mixer along with a wooden sword, spitting out a Tha-Thrice-slain-Abomination. Tha-Thrice-slain-Abomination can ground in a macenator for XP.
Maybe add yellow dye to the uranium process when you make the cake so it's yellowcake uranium?
What about changing redstone from cobble to redstone from obsidian? You know, because you can make obsidian out of redstone and redstone is often found next to lava, which is hot obsidian...
Also, what about these reactions:Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Iridium Byproducts: Chlorine Inputs: Water, diamonds, UUM Reaction: Water -> Salt Salt -> Sodium + Chlorine Many Diamonds + Sodium + More heat than any reactor other than the best one can withstand -> Raw Iridium Raw Iridium + UUM -> Iridium Ore Reason: Because for some reason I want to make iridium without using that much energy for UUM. Description: Water is heated until it evaporates, leaving behind salt. The salt is then split up in sodium and chlorine. Danger! If you combine sodium and water the reactor may go BOOM! Then some diamonds (carbon) are fused with sodium to create iridium. However, this iridium has to be refined with UUM. For this, you need much heat.
Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Hydrogen and oxyggen Inputs: Electrolyzed water cell Reaction: Electrolyzed water cell -> Oxygen + Hydrogen Reason: Because you need oxygen and hydrogen for other reactions. Maybe. At some point in the future. You can also reverse this reaction if you add a cell! Description: You take the cell and empty it. Then you seperate the gasses.
Code
Display MoreEnd Product: Hydrochloric acid Inputs: Chlorine + water + hydrogen (Yes, you only need water and a cell for this. And EU.) Reaction: Hydrogen + Chlorine + some heat -> Hydrogen Chloride + so much heat that the reactor may explode Hydrogen Chloride + Water -> Hydrochloric Acid Reason: Because we need something to change the pH level. Description: You combine hydrogen and chlorine and heat it to ignite it. Danger! The range of possible temperatures is very small! If it's just a little too hot, the reactor will overheat and if it is too cold, nothing happens! The produced hydrogen chloride is then combined wth water to create hydrochloric acid for lowering the pH level.

I'll give this a . (Over nine thousand GIBBL).
Sorry, but the wiki is wrong. I really need a wiki account... The compressor only has 4000 Gibbl (not GIBBL, but Gibbl).
On topic: Epic idea! Imagine mass-producing Weed-Ex, then suddenly something goes wrong and dissolves the tank, which causes poisonous acid to flood your base! Probably won't happen, but there should be conseuquences for doing something wrong, for example when you have something with a very low pH value or something way too hot. Or when you put sodium into your water tank! -
A feature someone overused, I'd say.

I don't know about the "ITNT pipes" in IC1 because I'm very new here
The miner just placed the pipes without looking for ores, when it was retracting it blew up every third pipe in an ITNT explosion.
-
What about modes? I'd say possible modes for use in a miner should be explosive (but it doesn't explode instantly, think of IC1 ITNT pipes), superheat, scatter(instead of looking in a 5x5 or 9x9 area, it just mines it) and normal.

It's really great that all of my ideas were approved! Thank you very much!

It is not possible to make cables work with microblocks without having IC² dependent on RP. About luminators in the cable's block... If it's possible, I like it! Also, what about glowing cables like IC1-luminators?

Whats the industrial conflict expansion? and is there a website or forum post for it?
It's not an expansion, it's a named update which will come in the future Alblaka mentioned somewhen.
-
I don't need it. I'm invisible already. Yes, you are supposed to look at my avatar now. LOOK AT IT!!! You can't find it, right? BUT IT IS THERE! HA! /offtopic
Well, I like it, but I think it has a low priority. I think it should be part of Industrium Conflict (by the way, will it add a material called "Industrium"?), but a lower priority part of it which is released in the second or third IC² release containing Industrium Conflict content, if there will be more than one. -
Would it be possible to use switch/detector cables and redstonetorches/repeaters?
-
I don't think anything regarding this changed in the last few versions...
-
If it's 6 blocks, it doesn't work. If it's 5 blocks, I'm not sure, but I think it doesn't work.
-
How long is the cable? Try using tin cable.
-
You don't need Modloader anymore, it is now replaced by Forge.

The rubber soles of the boots should be able to redirect any harmful electricity into the ground
If they would, they would HELP killing you. What they would do if your suggestion was implemented is that they would prevent the electricity from going from you into the ground, so the lightning wouldn't go through you at all. However, the lightning went through several meters of air and is stills trong enough to kill you, so it would probably just go through the air right next to the boots. So no for the boot-idea.
Additionally, it would makes sense if the damage taken by electricity is increased when wearing metal boots, or any type of metal armor, for that matter.
Helmet and boots, yes. If you have every armor piece made of metal, the damage should actually be negated because the armor would be a Faraday cage.
EDIT: Quantum boots/helmet shouldn't increase the damage because of it's high-tech forcefield, even tough it's made of a metal.

In my opinion, there are 5 options:
- Try to figure out what's wrong.
- Wait for someone else to help us.
- Play 1.3_01 without IC.
- Play a more recent version of Miencraft with IC².
- A combination of these.
-
It crashes here too, I installed Modloader, then MoreBlockIDs, then IC 4.73.
-
I'll try it now, I just have to downgrade Minecraft... I'll tell you if it works!
-
Very good, I just wanted to make sure you posted in the right section! Have a, wait a minute, what existed back then... Macerator! You're one of the few people who post here and are right!
In Beta 1.2_02 ModloaderMP wasn't required, maybe you need MoreBlockIDs or however it is called? Which version of IC are you using?
