Actually... With regards to EE

Ice only cost 1 EMC. As such, one stack of obsidian would translte into 64 STACKS of ice. Alternativly to make your system fully automatic

Energy Collector (any rating over a mark 1 is overkill) and an energy condenser. Wooden pipe and any kind of engine (I reccomend combustion as it moves whole stacks at a time) and pipe that ice into the reactor. Keep in mind, a reactor chamber won't accept stuff piped into it. It won't hook up so you can only have a 5 chamber design. aside from that, just let it sit and watch her go. Infinity ice until you run out of fuel. or if you use redstone engines, you'll never run out.

I'm sure the rules also said no efficiency 1 reactors.

I was modifying it based on the design that he posted, trimming off everything that wasn't needed.

Using your design, I was able to come up with this. Really nothing special but it's something i always try to do with small reactor designs. See if they'll work copy pasted and this one does with some tweaking.

recharges 8 isotope cells at once. downside is that needs water cooling to even function, but hey.

It does look good to me yeah. a lot less space intensive as well so you could add in some more uranium cells for raw power generation to make it actually usable as well.

I'm confused about this myself. I could be wrong, but I THINK that jsut any water is fine. I've seen a lot of designs using flowing water.

Huh... Never occured to me to put the isotope cell in right next to the main uranium cells. Really i just added that extra cell in there jsut because i could and it would let me breed at the same time. Ahh well. Also, is there any way to have more the that uranium? Or even a way to get 4 of 4 efficiency without going into mark 4 turf?

Well I had an accidental meltdown one time in one of my reactors. Or rather i went away from one for a while and when i came back it wasn't there anymore. since i always build my reactors at bedrock level, I knew something had happened but the bedrock was completly intact.

looks pretty good and with the full set, it can be copy-pasted to fill the entire reactor if you replace one uranium cell with an isotope cell. Still makes a lot of energy (150 EU/t) and it helps make more uranium... very slowly though but it works.

The way I read it on the wiki, two layers will completly nullify the explosion. Though if it were me,i'd triple or quadruple layer it just to be sure. When it comes to reactors, there's no such thing as being too careful.

Ahhh. I was just wondering because those things seemed basically indestructible. Ahhh well. Looks like I'mback to burying my reactors at the bottom of the world still lol. At least in the event of a meltdown, the bottom of the reactor isn't gonna budge. If only there was a legitimate way to make a shell out of bedrock. *le sigh* thanks for answering that though

Back with another "breeder" reactor. I use quotes there because it's breeder in name only. Horrible cooldown time I'll admit but that's because I had two left over slots and I wanted to put them to some sort of use. Trying to add two more uranium there makes it a class 3. Instead, I put one isotope cell to make everything happy and I didn't want to just have a single cell just... floating there alone. If you have the room for it while still making it safe, why not, right?

In order to prevent a meltdown, would just surrounding a reactor with personal safes work? I don't know for sure but they seem like placable bedrock. Also, has anyone tried something like that before?

One of my many attempts at making a breeder, but I think this design is pretty good. Unlike most breeders, this one generates a fair bit of power too.

Yeah, i do tend to get a little crazy with expenses... Typically, i go for the maximum generation possible.

I do have a reactor design for a mark 3, but one of the cooling cells always goes red. no matter what i plop down in that spot. but i'll show it to ya.
