Yes, it IS more server friendly, because now, it only calculates things, when a player actually uses the "elevator". Before, it constantly checked everything.

A machine, that only does things, that other machines also do, but nothing more is a bad machine imo, since it can only do that specific thing. And it doesn't even do it much better than the metal former, since you can overclock that one. As I said, it would be similar to the Block Cutting machine, that is barely used atm and a pretty much useless machine.
-
The block cutter is already a nearly useless machine. I don't think this would have a much more use than the block cutter.
-
Making them have a capacity won't work that well, because it causes more lag, it will "scrap" the original packet info and it is not a good solution.
-
Could you add a bug to the Bug Tracker, so I don't forget?
-
That would require a complete overhaul of the Energy Net to not explode the machines receiving the energy.
I don't think, it would be worth the effort. -

You're not helping, Speiger. Just letting you know.
-
I know that i have sometimes issues with reading but you seem to have issues too. Because i checkt that before i gave him that link.
There is a mod out there called CompactSolars, that will do nothing else than compress multiple solar panels into a single block, so it should be about as realistic as normal solar panels are.
It's also not like I didn't say that already.
-
He already said, he doesn't want to use CompactSolars.

Could the Fluid Input and Output slots be labelled on hover?
Would a simpler way of showing the recipe be to show 6 Universal Fluid Cells (Air) in the Fluid Input slot? Or is that too specific? The problem still remains: currently, I have no good way of accessing fluids, that want to go into a tank...
-
The mod I mean is called Andvanced Machines (immibis version).
You can find it here: [IC2 Exp][1.7.10] Advanced Machines - now with Array Solars! [Not to be confused with Solar Arrays] -
I never said, thatit wouldlag less during nighttime.
And yes, the other enet will still suffer from that kindof situation, but it will handle that situation better, because once the graph is built, its time consumption is roughly linear in the amount of sources in total. -
I'm working on a way to make fluid slots have a default fluid in in the jei page. However that is quite difficult and takes a lot of time. But yeah, since that's not done, you can't see, that it takes air to work.

First of all: Speiger, you're wrong.
The energy flow in the default 1.7.10 IC2 enet is calculated by a matrix multiplication. Separating the solar panels into different parts of the energy net results in smaller matrices (for example 2 50x50 matrices instead of 1 100x100 matrix. Of course, that is faster to calculate). But not to your question, Kasssel:
Your think that solution to devide panels for 32 per energy storage may partly solve my problem? Will it decrease Cpu load? Are your sure?
Yes, that is exactly, what I meant. That will decrease CPU usage.
In the 1.9.4 version and above, after the initial chunkloading of the energy tiles is done, it won't make a difference, how many solar panels are connected to each other.
In the 1.7.10 version and the 1.8.9 version, that trick will however save you cpu power.
A not to upgrading your world to 1.8.9: All IC2 blocks won't survive the upgrade. We suggest creating a new world in 1.8.9 (or even 1.10)
One last thing: I just remembered, that immibis once made an array solars mod, that will require as much space as a normal solar panrel setup, but will cause less lag due to the inverter being connected to the enet and not the solar panels themselves. -
Try to separate your solar panels into "smaller energy net parts" using a transformer or an energy storage block.
Please tell me if that helped... -
Hmm, the described lag occurences are weird. I'll check again, when I come back home.
Could you tell me, what versions of stuff you are using? -
Solar panels shouldn't cause more lag during sunset, than they normally do. If the lag is only there during sunset, it's most likely caused by something else than the solar panels.
There is a mod out there called CompactSolars, that will do nothing else than compress multiple solar panels into a single block, so it should be about as realistic as normal solar panels are.

You're welcome.
