It's a bug, and the developers can't fix it now without using bytecode editing, which would be a PITA to do.The recipe is: Cable, Machine Casing, Cable (vertically)

They completely modified the buildscript for 1.7 and they don't have the 1.6 code anymore, IIRC. -
