Debug Brewing Barrel/Machine/Item

    • Official Post

As fun as brewing is, doing testing on it is incredibly grindy, especially since Dragonblood takes over an IRL day to brew.

Can there be a debug item that can rush brew/set how long a barrel has been brewing, so that the drink can be finished instantly, avoiding the hours of waiting just to get information for the wiki and something useful to actually use in survival?

145 Mods isn't too many. 9 types of copper and 8 types of tin aren't too many. 3 types of coffee though?

I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realise that what you read was not what I meant.

    I see this too much.

  • I agree with Chocohead, they should add an item that can speed up the brewing, by shift right clicking it for setting the number of IRL time we want to set then right click again to insta brew stuff; it can also be a survival item, being an endgame brewing tool requiring UU matter and EU in its internal buffer and some Iridium reinforced plate as a crafting component.

Alternatively, Thunderdark can also add a Brewing analyser tool, which tells you the number of IRL your liquid has brewed, the actual state of the liquid (beer, Dragonblood...) and the number of IRL time your liquid need to take to go on the next level of strength.

    +1

Never thought of that, as it always seemed to break with Alblaka's desired guessing, but that's a nice suggestion. Would rather have an instant debug brewer over it however ;)

  • I also prefer the idea of the instant brewer, but if possible, not as a debug item like you suggested, but more like an endgame tool, that should be expensive.

Actually, I could combine your idea that you add it as a late game option, that if it has the debug scanner in the battery slot, processes instantly, and when it isn't I'll have some delay so it can use EU to magically speed up fermentation.

  • Good idea, but don't forget the UU matter required for the speed up, but won't be required if a debug scanner is in the battery slot ^^
