Does it HAVE to be 4 chambers?
Sometimes it's better to build several smaller reactors, for example this 2-chamber one:

Only 35 EU/t, but it's cheap to build lots of them

Measure the EU/t over a longer period of time, as reactors emit EU in pulses once every 1 second (20 ticks).

Use fibre and forget about power loss. Just spare one diamond (though my problem with cables is not diamonds but rubber).
But honestly, I'd just remove the chambers from reactor, make 2 more reactors using chambers and use this design:

You would need just 4 more adv.circuits and like 16 adv.alloy, should not really be a problem.
And you will have 4 spare HD's.
The only downside - you need more space.
Yes, i would much prefer it to be four chambers, as right now I don't have the mats to make more reactors...
How about this, 4 Chambers, but twice as effective as the other one, at 2.33 - only uses 3 Uranium Cells, versus 6 for the other one.

Does "only" generate 35 EU/t - but consider the fact that it uses half the Uranium and you only lose 30% of the EU output! And its Mark I, so keep this baby supplied with Uranium and it will keep on givin you sweet EU, baby!

Well, you can accidentally 2 chambers from that one and still be mk.1. You're using too many HDs

Hmm... Apparently you can build a zero-chamber mk.2 yielding 35 eu/t at 2.33 eff, but it'll need quite some time cooling down
