You cannot fill water buckets in SMP. Even with redpower's deployer. They appear to be full but when you go to place them they with place the water and it immediately disappears.

Is your forge updated? Some version of 1.3.1.x was released of forge that had that bug. 1.3.2 also has a major bug thanks to SpaceToad, but LexManos has released a fix in the MCF Post http://www.minecraftforum.net/…p__12390374#entry12390374, post number 4092 in the MCF Forge thread in case MCF is being retarded with its links again.
