I was hoping if a new feature of on/off switches would be added which functions with the use of a sticky piston. Sticky Pistons could push/pull wires which would connect/disconnect the power to other machines. If you think about it then Thanks.

Your suggestion actually isn't possible, cables are tile entities (I think) so pistons are unable to move them, which is the reason why I mentioned splitter cables that can provide the functionality you are looking for.

You could use Redpower frame motors if you really wish to move cables as an ON/OFF switch (or something else).
You know, this sounds like you haven't even tried IC2 for a while, have you, splitter cables are basic.
