Hi,
i have a question:
Can anyone make a addon that the vannilla RedstoneLamp consum Energy from industrialcraft?
that was really nice
I think 1 EU/t is enought for one Lamp.
sry for my bad englisch^^ i am German -.-

Do you know about Luminators ? They are a bit bugged and need an overhaul but ... it's basically what you asked ^^. (Aren't the luminators more glowy than RS lamps ? I think their light value is 16, isn't it ?)
yes your right....
but the luminator are to buggy...
we cant produce enaugh Energy for a complete City with luminators....

You know that luminators consumes less energy than what you suggested ?

But luminators have this ''effect'' where they consume sh*t-tons of power, to do nothing really but build up their massive internal storage (100k EU, I think it is?)... A simpler 16 orso EU storage would be much better, as all you'd have to do is flip a switch to turn the lights on or off nearly simultaneously, and you don't have to run 5 nuclear reactors at 2,337 EU/t to fill up the storage in your house's lamps.

I think the buffer is a very good and usefull thing, as it, or example, allows you to power Luminators with Solars without as many Batboxes inbetween.

However the buffer prevents them to be redstone controlled.
I should make a mod thats just lighting
*opens eclipse*
sooooo how i do this again? xd
Luminators are basically lamps right? Well except you cant turn them off which sux and prevent 90% of players to actually use them. You can turn-off any machine, but not lights. Long time ago there was small fanmade mod for it but it was removed.

I was digging in IC2.jar with friend and we found lumi internal storage code but we had no idea how to compile whole thing back.
If you succeed i will call you god of moders.
I think better Lights are also on Gregs ToDo List. Right after Stargates...
However the buffer prevents them to be redstone controlled.
But it also prevent Luminators to be CPU intensive
20 EU storage should be max, so it takes a second to Go out.

Why do you all want bufferless Luminators? Guess what happens if you have no energy and no light. Something bad. But if you have no energy but two days to fix it untiul monsters spawn, you will be more likely to survive.
...
Luminators aren't really meant for survival you know ? It's more like useful for builders and such ...

Well i cant argue with that but as far as i can say you almost always have energy storage to support your power generation right? In case of emergency nuclear explosion when you lost all "energy"... seriously having happy luminators(lighted/charged) is last thing i care about. I prefer to make my base with all those epic things like nuclear reactors, mass fab, mfsu, fiber cables, transformators... able to switch those f.....ancy lights off.
What EU/t do they actually use?
You Nuke blowed a part of your base and all your storage up. You are trying to get energy again. Suddenly, a creeper blows you and your emergency generators up. And of the story.

0.5 EU per tick.

Luckily, as everyone, you had TORCHES. So the creeper didn't actually spawn. Luminators are useless because torches are infinites.
0.5 EU per tick.
Nope. 0,25 EU/t
An unmanned watermill is enough to supply it.
The Creeper does spawn and does her work od doom, because you aren't able to put torches everywhere fast enough.
