Ok, after some tests, it appears to be directly connected to GregTech and NEIPlugin+RC/BC/Forestry, as I still get 0.5-1 sec delay even with only NEI, NEIPlugin, IC2, Railcraft and GregTech 2.72 installed..I will blame my crappy computer for now :(..

, removing the plugin ofc will remove a lot of things NEI needs to processes thus removing the search lag..
Try start game without NEIPlugins (if this mod is installed).
Ah, that fixed the search lag thingie in 2.72a and above..but even without removing it no lag occurs to 2.71b; oh well...
I don't really know about coding, but judging from the changelog the first three changes should be similar to older changes..

Added Cells for five of the most important Liquids of other Mods (Bio Diesel, Diesel, Oil, Creosote and Biomass)
Added Semifluid Generator for anything what is something between a Liquid and a Solid. (Sodium, Creosote, Oil and Biomass for example)
Added Invar Ingot (Idea from Thermal Expansion). Its Heat Resistance will be used in some of the Generators.
Added Config to determine the Direction of OreDict-Unification.
Fixed some Bugs ofcourse.
Btw, has anyone been experiencing spike lag with NEI enabled? I have to disable it to be able to play properly..oh God.. I hate 1.4.6..
Small bug: upon upgrading to the new version (V2.73b), the time NEI takes to update it's list when searching for items gets a delay of 2~5 seconds. Last version i tried without that bug: 2.70d.
Using NEI 1.4.4.0 & CCC 0.7.0.0 & forge483.
Do you want to check the code change from 2.71b to 2.72a, the last version without that delay is 2.71b..
Ah nvm, I have everything work perfectly without doing any block id changing 
, only change the factorization item ids from 9xxx to 7xxx..
Did you do clean install of all mods (with deleting all the configs)? I haven't got any ID conflict with any forge mods I got (50 mods) except for RP2 and Factorization item IDs..(including both versions of Advanced Machines).. I thought Forge had the block ID auto assign thing..oh well..

when i put a stack of redstone in the centrifuge i get 20 mercure cells
so 64 redstone + some tin + 20 redstone + 20 coppercable = 640 single use batteries = 640kEU
seems quite a lot to me... or how much EU does the centrifuge take for that?
needs 110K eu per 64 redstone dusts, so it's around 530k per 64 redstones.. OMG, a new energy resource for early gameplay thanks dude..
Display MoreOh ok, I can understand that. But now there is now way to make copper blocks as the compressor wants to make copper plates. And also the RP2 blocks that are made with compressor return RP2 ingots back (while being originally IC2 ingots)
Maybe a config option?
I'd rather have my IC2 blocks back, I can live without tin and copper covers and stuff
Compressing coppers always give you copper plates even before the change, you can make copper block using the vanilla way (9 coppers in crafting table )
Hi Greg, just a suggestion, as you already enable the fluid form of deuterium and trititum, do you want to consider adding deuterium, helium 3 and tritium slots in the fusion reactor? Or you can do that already?..
And I have to say that Sheldonite Ore is pretty OP.. Especially the amount of platinum you can get from it.. Perhaps a nerf is possible?

Hi Greg, can you fix the NEI search function is not being automatic any more? This happened since I upgraded GregTech to 2.72a and also occur with the latest version (2.72b).
@Kane, to make things more interesting, you can disable Sheldonite ore and get the Platinum/Iridium needed for matter fabricator from ferrous ore (Thermal Expansion)..

Yep you need TE for the exploit; simply grab 1 sand, process sand in compressor (IC2) to get sandstone, and then process sandstone in pulverizer(TE) to get 2 sands (with 10% chance to get niter, niter can then be pulverized to get 2 saltpeters and 10% chance of niter), repeat steps..
I bet a diamond in that Greg makes another Update and at least fix the compressor-Sandstone exploit.
Well, at least pls don't remove the sand -> sandstone recipe, maybe increase the amount of sand needed from 1 to 3 so we still can make saltpeter from sand :D, and a benefit of using compressor... (since vanilla mc has 4 sand-> 1 sandstone recipe)..
I got similar bug, the NEI search function worked but I had to press enter button to search for something in NEI; it's not automatic anymore..
I've been tampering with taking off a few of the hard mode recipes off of my server, and no matter what I do the server config reverts to default in the recipes section. Can you not change config in an already existing world? I got the change to stick client-side, but am still having no luck on the server. The proper recipe is now showing up on the server, but now the recipes that are changed by Gregtech will not allow themselves to be pulled out of crafting tables.
I believe you have to change both config of server and client side to make it works..
Hey Greg, where does saltpeter from RC generate? I need potassium to make the NaK cells.
Desert biome, or just use pulverizer-compressor exploit to make saltpeter out of sand-sandstone..
