Some decent stuff in here, might be tuesday before I actually get time to update main page, but made a list of changes to make.

For the record, I'm not making anymore changes to 1.4.7 gregtech reactors post. I'll move the whole post somewhere once we come up with non uranium and non CRCS reactors that are actually better than vanilla reactors, so the old stuff will always be available, for the time being though post #3 is static.

I'm also still not *on* 1.5, so I'm not 100% on how to judge the new ones.

Are there any outstanding factors in gregtech 1.5.1 I should be aware that might make thorium or plutonium more worthwhile? I think i remember him saying that thorium would be easier to get.

Also, I remember greg sayign he'd drop the cost of uranium multicells, same way he dropped thorium/plutonium multicells. Did that change go through?

Back from Minecraft sabbatical, will go over submissions tomorrow. If there's anything I really really need to see repost it though.

Huh? Ultimate pack is on 2.81 I think. Plutonium was substantially nerfed in 2.90 (more power yes, but no hybrid boost and drastically higher heat).

You'll also want a breeder to actually provide it with fuel.

thing to keep in mind is that the numbers correspond to the same slots regardless of the number of reactor chambers, second row starts with 9, third row starts with 18 etc.

The point of that reactor is highest efficiency, though I think I'll add this too as a midpoint between the other two 0 running cost reactors.

Crap, what page is that 4 chamber on?

Size of the tower is relevant as well, since if you need 10 towers a 6 chamber will take up a *ton* of space, but 15 4 chamber reactors will be more modestly sized thanks to easy stacking.

Its gregtech stuff is messed up in various ways, but its good for vanilla.

If greg fixes his (apparent) multicell bug the two reflector quad cell might be OK, that would have 400 EU/t if plutonium worked as Greg describes, for a more reasonable reflector cost.

More importantly, him fixing plutonium would make the 4 quad CRCS setup operate at 1920, so we're up to 1.4.7 power levels with only a ~50% increase in fuel and 4 reflectors.

Because that does absolutely nothing to solve the problem? A damage sensitive filter (such as an emerald pipe) can be left on 100% of the time without changing its operation in this case, as it would remove the cell if and only if the damage value matches.

That is way too expensive for 200 EU/t

Need 40 reflectors (and nearly double the fuel) to match my 1.4.7 setup.

You appear to have a bug then.

There's a ton of precise damage value options, the problem is if the cell misses that precise damage value it *never* gets removed, and overheats instead. The other option would be routers, I understabd those can remove from specific slots, but I've never messed with factorization, i don't know how well that would work. (IE, would you need a separate router for every cooling cell, how well does EU convert to factorization power (I hear routers are to be changed to require power).

Ok, pretty sure at this point its a 190 second microcycle and 1600 EU/t I really need to get around to getting a 1.5 instance setup to test these things.

Ok, Mark I plutonium and thorium systems may or may not be dead, but CRCS systems are still very much alive.

If I'm right, this should have 3-4 minute microcycle and produce something like 1400-1600 EU/t with new gregtech:

Though I don't think anybody has managed to make CRCS setups without redpower yet (and God knows when that'll be in 1.5), AE is supposed to be getting a fuzzy filter system that should do the job.

That only works for thorium dust, not cells.

Since thorium makes about a third the power it used to (including having its duration halved) I'm not sure how well that works.

Hmm, the 2x2 is efficiency 4 by my reckoning. Not much compared to the current crop, but there will be advancements, and we've already got competition with vanilla. Greg also said he'll drop the multicellular uranium to cheap copper plates, lava centrifuging EU cost will even be a little cheaper than vanilla uum copper cost.

I think the plutonium might be usable, but with thorium useless as hell I don't know that 5 uranium for 1 plutonium is a viable trade.
