That's just an out of memory error, change your Java parameters so -Xmx512M is at least -Xmx1024M, if not more. Trying to run even slightly modded Minecraft on only half a GB of RAM is going to cause issues, vanilla struggles to run on that if left on for long periods.

485 was just around Thunderdark starting to mess around with reactor and fluid things, I'd expect by build 600 that it would work the way it does now.

MedievalCraft wall. It's like a version of construction foam you can easily make out of clay if you're high enough in the builder trait that hardens into obsidian style hardness. It's a real pain to remove unless you've got a high enough siege-mechanic trait that lets you use the siege hammer to essentially un-solidify it and make it easily breakable again.
MedievalCraft is such a cool mod, it is just rather dependant on being used on a semi-large server.

I don't think so, I'm sure it's been like that ever since Universal Fluid Cells were in. At least ever since Thunderdark starting messing around with them anyway.

Also: Player, how about having a whole Forum Section dedicated to FastCraft instead of a Thread in Off-Topic?
What would it have in it past a releases thread (that would be rarely posted in and could be merged into the discussion thread), a using your mod in my modpack thread and a discussion/problems thread? Fastcraft doesn't really get that many varying posts/topics in the way Gregtech does.
I guess it could help in filtering problems out from the modpack posts though.

What would you do with a lump of dry construction foam anyway? It would surely be easier to just have a CF sprayer and some sand so you could put it (and quickly dry it) anywhere anyway?

No, it's either a bug (most likely) or a feature that you've got to right click on something in order for it to actual pick a fluid up infront of what you right clicked.
