I'm kinda sad to see the moon dimension go, but looking forward to the new features you have planned. Keep up the good work.

Like I said, I don't care if it burns the tin (in fact, for balance reasons I'd prefer if it did). It's not like it would really change the fact that they take lava buckets. I just want an easier and quicker way to jump start my chain of breeders
-
I would really like to see the ability to use lava cells in addition to lava buckets to add heat to reactors. Would make life much easier for heating breeders. Don't need the cell back, I'd pay the 1/4 tin per for ease of use.

Unfortunately, no. (Or at least I don't plan to) I figure it'll cause more problems then it solves. It's a limitation built into reactors (since they always have 54 inventory slots; hence always free slots available when you need to have less then 6 chambers to connect pipes/tubes/other machines to the core).
I might still figure out a way to make it so we can connect to reactor chambers, which
wouldshould make insertion pipes work properly [on a 6-chamber reactor] (as well as giving several more surfaces to connect stuff to, which would be interesting to see the kinda crazy things people would make w/ it). That, so much. That needs to happen.
-
I accept your challenge though buildcraft bucketfiller addon and additional pipes will be used
Wasn't a challenge, I built it already (TMI was used) I just have 7 separators for 7 reactors, so theoretically I can get 10x that from my current supply.
-
Doing some maths with the fusion reactors. The reactors put out 300k EU @ 30eu/tick, which means they last for 10k ticks. The isotope separator draws 5eu/tick and requires 512 eu for one operation. That means it takes 103ticks per operation of the separator, which translates to a fuel cell every 1030 ticks. This pretty much says that 1 separator can run almost 10 reactors non-stop given an endless supply of tin and an automatic crafting area. This is amazing, because the 10 reactors operations (without scrap) produce 3 uu matter, which makes 5 tin ore, turns into 10 tin, which turns into 40 cells. Which is twice the amount put in. This thing literally doubles it's potential energy every cycle of the reactors. Pretty nifty stuff
(Mind you, it takes either intense micro or automation using buildcraft, as rp2 cannot pull from the empty cell slot of the separator)

I know back in IC1 days you could make a cobble generator with an automated miner and an ore block as "bait" then place the water/lava cobble generation in the middle. Probably still works.
This does still work. It's what I used for an auto cobble maker until I installed RP2

Installation
Drag-and-drop the jar in the attached zip into your .minecraft/mods folder, then place the ic2 folder from the zip into your IC2 jar.I think you missed a step of the installation. You know, the part that adds the recipes.
-
I did try putting it in the mods folder, like i said i tried following the instructions. I only put it in the JAR because i was getting desperate. I've tried everything i can think of to make it work but it won't, i really wanna get this working.

Yeah, noticed that one myself a while back after an "oops" and forgot about posting it.
the "oops"? Was setting up a "launch platform" of several (6 I think) missiles intended to be targeted in different areas. (woo! big huge craters)
one premature firing later I had a bunch of missiles coming down on my head. One hole to and through the bedrock.
I've got a (bad/good) habit of utterly ruining test worlds.Heh, you should've seen what my platform of 20 thermonukes did
-
how to craft one ?
i don't know how i have tryed many crafting recepies but how toRecipe is not in game yet, as the material to make one will be found on the moon. You can use TMI to get one and ruin your world though.
-
Still really backed up with work after the conference - I won't be able to finish the autominer update until next week at the earliest.
Thanks for the update. My concealed missile silos appreciate your hard work.
Also, thermonukes blow out bedrock. Not sure if that is intended or not.

When can we expect the new version to come out? Not until the new version of IC?
That has to be the single most annoying question for anyone developing anything for free. It will be out when it's out. If you still want to play with it, use the older version until all your mods get updated.

On the topic of the fusion stuff, I would like to see each deuterium cell take twice as many operations to make one fuel cell, but change the reactor to only take an input of 1 cell. Doing it like this makes my buildcraft system I made actually work instead of needing more intervention than just adding empty cells.
Other than that, this mod is amazing. I can't wait to see the moon dimension.

This is highly innefficient though, way too many IHD

Thats a really good setup for a 3 uranium input. Only needs 2 chambers and can run forever. (note: that's not my design, just one I remember because I used it)

I too saw Zeldo's solar wing, and wanted to know how much power it made.
So I built it (with TMI of course)
This thing lags like a beast when the day/night cycle changes.
total Eu/tick is 3024. I thought it was 2048 for a long while, then realized that was the maximum input of my hv transformer that I was using. So I split it into 4 sections, two get 114 eu/tick, 1 gets 1397 eu/tick, and the last gets 1399 eu/tick.
This is some serious power generation, but at a cost of 3000+ solars.

I really like how this is looking. Have you considered trying the new update to the bucket filler? There is a recipe for a pump that has an infinite water source contained within, as well as a self powered bucket filler. Those 2 things might help streamline what you've got a lot.
-
I really like the looks of this reactor. I really want to look at it up close, any chance you could upload the world?
Also, ignore Rick. He trolls anyone who has a different design than his.
-
I like the design, but if you're going for max eu/t it would be easier to take those 6 chambers you were going to add on and just make 3 more reactor cores. You can make 4 35 eu/t (140eu/t total) MK II core only reactor with less cooldown time than the thing you have going
Here is the design I came up with. 2.33 eff with 35eu/t and a 64min cooldown with just the core of the reactor. (Tested, will not explode, although it will get hot enough to evaporate water, so you will need the water flowing from above)

I like reading about these reactors and all of the work that goes into them. Not this flame bullshit that I keep reading. Please don't do the 'mine is better than yours' 'nuh-uh! you're cheating' bs. I'm genuinely impressed by this reactor as my attempts at an ice powered machine have just ended up as craters. There is NOTHING wrong with using TMI to generate ice to test a concept, and then prove said concept. It's a game, no reason to try and 1-up each other in derogatory manners.
