Gonna put even more uranium cells in it and possibly a emergency shutdown system along with a nice containment chamber (because shit happens sometimes). When finished i will post it here with details :). But first i need to see how much buckets 1 deployer can fill per sec. Atm its 2 buckets per sec in my system but i think it can be faster. Also my pipes can be shorter (meaning you would need less buckets to keep them flowing around 24/7). Enough talk now need to make a uber reactor

Fourfire, dancing with the devil much?
I agree that water bukkit CASUC appears to be superior in most fields, but I would like to point out that stacking many normal reactors probably is more compact
But 4 eff is kickass and means less refueling. Also a nice cooling system is just cool

Its impossible to use pipes on reactor chambers atm but maybe in the future.
Atm my system is capable of making 2 buckets/second so thats 1000 cooling/tick which is more than enough to cool this reactor down. Have to see if i can optimise my system for more buckets/tick.
Gonna experiment with more uranium cells too. Maybe i can make a reactor that really needs HV cables to transport the eu -
okay so your using water as cooling...so...does the red power mod incorporate items/tools/blocks to automatically remove the empty buckets?
its fully automatic no babysitting
-
If you have the mats i suggest making this:
http://forum.industrial-craft.…page=Thread&threadID=2060Yes thats right 295 eu/tick with 3.93 eff with no downtime and no meltdowns. You do need redpower 2 for it.
Same system could be used to put water buckets in watermills i think only you will get a much lower output but still usefull early on.
-
Ye that would still function i think and it would be cheaper. Didnt paid much attention to the design of the reactor itself just wanted to spam as much buckets in it to cool it :). Havent found the max cooling capacity of 1 deployer so it could work with even more uranium cells but you wont need more than this i think

A improvement of BrickedKeyboard watercooled redpower 2 reactor:

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/830/20111020122638.png/Output:295 eu/tick
Efficiency: 3.93When properly cooled with water buckets its a mk1 else you better run for your live. My relative compact water cooling system can be seen in the screenshots. Based on Brickedkeyboard reactor but improved alot :). Requires no maintenance except refueling once setup.
IC2 components:
1 nuclear reactor
4 reactor chambers
Glassfiber/HV cable to transport the eu (not shown in screenshots but can be easily added).Redpower 2 components:
1 deployer
3 transposers
3 filters
1 timer
And some red alloy wires and pneumatic pipesVanilla components:
A ton of buckets for the cooling system
Bedrock (which i used for testing purposes here but normally use obsidian)
2 ChestsThats pretty much all you need
-
I made one with 1 deployer, 3 filters and 3 transposers and 1 timer. Still its stable with same eff and output as yours. Through i cheated a bit on the protective casing for testing purposes (bedrock). It could prolly cool even more uranium cells than this.

(yes i know the reactor is basically a heat tank nothing else)Edit: now running stable (like a mk1) at 295 eu/tick and 3.93 eff.

If you got too much uranium why not make a 2th reactor? XD. Now you will use your uranium with high eff.
-
Atm you can only put the buckets in the top of the reactor so yours only have 1 spot for a water bucket
-
Nice design but it misses a emergency shutdown system and the explosion wont be contained by anything. Little bit risky
-
ok redpower is a truly awesome mod now and it interacts with other mods very well. Deployers can fill buckets not only from water source blocks but also from buildcraft tanks (no longer have to manualy refill geogenerators!!!). Be sure to use additional pipes for the advanced wooden pipe to maximalise your efficienty

obsidian was nerfed in IC2. now it is weaker than reinforced stone. you need three layer of reinforced stone to completly contain full reactor explosion.
I use obsidian 2 blocks thick and nuclear explosion doesnt go through it only when the obsidian melts (but hey 1 hole in it wont do much damage..). Another thing i noticed is that the reinforced stone behind the hole did break thus obsidian>reinforced stone. Prolly got changed back i guess.
-
Hmm with redpower you can fill buckets and get them in the reactor and out again? Really wanna see your setup this can be epic :). I mean a 3,33 eff 100 eu reactor that runs like a mk1 is sweet. Could be made more efficient through i think but i wanna see your setup first before we start perfecting it
-
Make a obsidian wall around the reactor its more resistant to explosion. Unless you use a ton of uranium it wont break.
-
I dont like anything below 2 eff. Better make 2 reactors then so you wont waste your uranium on low eff.

0 heat now and totaly useless empty place for optional ice block cooling lol
Try this one when low on budget should be able to complete 1 cycle without problems (have to cooldown after):

If you want to have less chambers you can use this:
http://test.vendaria.net/index…HXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXit's mark I and it has efficiency 2.33. It produces less Eu/t, but more EU per uranium Cell.
It got lower eff thus it produces less eu per uranium cell. Also:
http://test.vendaria.net/index…HXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX4 components cheaper

Same eff, same output and same heat but 2 components less
