Episode 14 is rendering now, and will be up soon. I got to Mass Fabs, but not teleporters yet. Those things are TRICKY! I tried messing with them in my test world. I think I'll wait to add them to my 'real' world until after they no longer ASPLODE!

Thanks Zarrab -- Yea, I think I've been able to improve my voice a little in the later episodes, but you'll have to let me know :). Several people have mentioned it.
If all else fails, I might get a new Mic.

I just tested Quarries in my test world (Total hax with TMI). This is the exact same mod setup i use for my Lets Plays -- but a different world where I test my stuff before building.
Quarry + Iron Engine + Oil + redstone. It works like a charm :). If you are using Buildcraft 2.1 you need to find oil, and build a combustion engine. My lets play features them all.

I've been kind of staying away from TOO much EQEx stuff for now, because I want to experience IC2 a little bit vanilla first, and then upgrade things with EqEx stuff. I waited a while to make that destruction catalyst for that purpose. Wanted to see how the mining drill and laser did on their own. Thats also the reason I'm not doing the macerate gold -> Diamond cycle a lot, it feels a little like cheating to me :).
I'm also using all my diamonds for IC stuff, so haven't had a chance to make too many items from EqEx. I'll probably get an Obdisian factory going at some point, but that requires an awful lot of investment up front. Obsidian factorys are useless unless you have the Volcanite, Evertide, and Gem of Eternal Density -- so thats like 9 dark matter right there before I can start using the cheaper recipes to duplicate them.
I think Epsiode 2 of my EqEx series featured my Obsidian factory from my old world, I had like 48 of those things all pumping into a chest, it was insane.
IC2 is really the star of my LP series, for now at least. I'll go into more EE and BC stuff soon though :).

I'm currently researching how these machines work, so you can guess what I'll be doing in Episode 14, (Teaser!).
I'm also toying with the idea of doing a series dedicated to just IC2 tutorials. The wiki is currently hit/miss with some of these details (I might try to make some changes to it at some point) and I'm getting pretty comfortable with the wiring mechanics and machine mechanics.

Wanted to ask 2 questions:
1) How much energy does a Mass Fab need, and can I hook it up to HV current (MFSU) directly?
2) Teleporters. There was talk about a teleporter using energy relative to its distance traveled, is that how it works? Any ideas on what kind of energy we're talkin about? Also, do they work on MV or HV?

The PTM - Personal Teleportation Module - is a wonder of modern science! Simple place this module in your hand, and right-click on an existing teleportation pad. The module is now tuned to that teleport pad!
Activate the module from any location using right click, and you're INSTANTLY teleported to the pad you sync'd the module with.
Be aware, the module can only store enough energy for ONE use, and must be recharged before it can be used again.
(Recipe should include Iridium, T3 energy crystal, and advanced circuits). I've heard the TP Pad in IC2 uses less energy, but I'm not sure what a fair amount of EU for this device is? 1 million seems a bit high, I was thinking maybe 600,000? The same amount as an MFE?

No block loss would be nice then :). The 'upgraded' version would be rather expensive to make - material wise - and mostly it'd just hold a bigger charge. So less having to return to base for recharges.

Hey guys,
The mining laser is made with Energy Crystals and Advanced Alloy. How about an Upgraded mining laser, that takes your old mining laser, and uses Lapotron Crystals and Iridium?
I'd like the upgraded version to store more energy (and be charged in an MFSU). Maybe hold 10x as much juice as it does now?

Awesome! I really am enjoying terraformers, they are just so cool!
Incidently, did you see my post on the Suggestions forum for IC2, about a terraformer blueprint that converts the land into a nether-like area? Dirt/Stone->Netherrack, sand-> soulsand, and water -> Lava.
Was curious about your thoughts on that.

Thanks Alblaka, good to know that 2 terraformers will compliment each other. Also, the snow thing makes perfect sense, as it seemed to me that snow was only forming under trees.
I'm going to do a desertification TFBP next :). But that Irrigation + Cultivation final outcome is just so cool.

Yes! YES! I like this :). I really want to use teleporters to get between some things that are relatively close, but the amount of energy (and even more importantly, time) that is required to get to and fro is prohibitive for me.
If teleport energy was dependent on distance traveled, that'd be great!
