Well, that's certainly not "intended behavior", I'm sure. It's the sort of thing that might have been overlooked because people aren't "supposed to" break machines with picks. But there's been a time or two I've done so - BuildCraft gets you into that habit, and damn if the Diamond Drill doesn't make short work of anything. So I would suppose that's a bug that cpw would want to address.

Please describe for me the components you used in the crafting.
Usually, people who think they've done "exactly as described" are using the wrong item in one or more slots. -
We don't ask permission, we still don't. The permission has been given to us through various means, usually after people find out that we aren't assholes
So, you admit to using others' work without permission, and then claim you're not assholes? Okay. If you say so.QuoteShe loves that picture, and you are stretching far to try to frame that as derogatory toward Eloraam. She, unfortunately, has a sense of humor.
Our 'site' isn't about grace, tact or class, I don't know why you'd come in all smug and try to point that out to us.
And I'm sure that the more idiotic of your followers feel the same way? Or do they think that it's a dig on her and that's how they feel too? Because the remarks in the comments put lie to your words. And if you're not about grace, tact, or class, then I don't see why you have an issue with me calling it like I see it. don't like the taste of your own medicine?
And, for the record, I didn't "come in"... I was already here. Now, back onto the topic: Richard, the Advanced Solar Helmet is magnificient. It's keeping my LapPack charged nicely!

Nobody knows that we are friends with Eloraam, or that Ablaka was the first to give us permission, or that Xenophobe has always been thankful for us, or that Technic and the Yogscast is directly responsible for Thaumcraft being created.
I 'get' that people see us ripping on FlowerChild and take that as all we do, but that isn't my problem. FlowerChild is bad for the community and the sooner people like him get overshadowed with people doing it right (Alblaka, Eloraam, Xenophobe, Azanor) the better off we will be.
So, that said, would you care to explain why you choose to showcase fan artthat is derogatory toward Eloraam? And the childish comments you not only permit, but endorse?Don't mistake Eloraam's tolerance of you for "friendship" any more than I do. She's capable of grace, tact, and class - qualities I see missing from your site and utterly absent in the "credits" of your mod pack.

Hey guys, I've never done a reactor. I think I've just designed one on talon that would work wonderfully though.
I think you didn't design that... it's Rick's "budget upgrade" reactor from his sig. Identical in every regard.Don't get me wrong, it's a great reactor design... but it's not yours. Was done long ago.

Seems to be working so far for me - but then again, I haven't encountered any of the issues that were supposedly wonky in 1.2.2... guess I'll go find some Nikolite and see what it drops, that's a good casual test.
-
Tin appears as iron, copper appears as gold... these aren't even on the IC2 texture sheet.
Would you mind posting some screenshots to show us what you're talking about? -
Say it like Sandal from Dragon Age... you'll never want to enchant an item again.
-
So please explain to me why exactly it is illegal; Do not use shallow arguments, explain in great detail exactly why, backing up all of your arguments.
When someone uses your work without your permission (and in some cases, against your express refusal), giving credit alone does not suffice. You will notice that they do not have a thread on the Minecraft Forum, because they'd be banned outright for misappropriating other people's intellectual property. One of the things they are doing is stealing traffic from the sites of the mod developers. If you've ever taken a look at their site, they openly ridicule many of the developers whose work they include. Does that sound like something that's done for the good of anyone but themselves? The only people who need Technic are people who are too stupid to get the mods to work together on their own - annd those selfsame idiots are eating out of the palms of their hands. They'll believe the propaganda the Technic guys tell them, because if they can't understand how to install a mod, they sure aren't going to grasp the finer points of a copyright or IP laws.
Eloraam, for example, explicitly prohibits distribution of her mod by any other source - it's right in her license. Is that a clear enough example for you?

So that's a file that modifies the minecraft .jar instead of going in the mods folder?
That doubles my suspicion that it could be the culprit. In that case, copy your save file and that .jar and save them somewhere as a backup (that way, if this doesn't solve it, you can resotre them). Then start with a fresh jar (you can do this by deleting the jar and launching the game) or better yet, backup the whole .minecraft folder, delete the contents of /bin and /mods and start again.
Install Modloader/ModLoaderMP/Forge/Optifine and then place just the IC2 file in your /mods folder. Launch the game and see if the problem persists. If it's fine, then add other mods one at a time, checking after each to see if and when the problem arises.
-
OK, thanks for posting the modloader file. The only things I'm not familiar with in terms of how they interact would be Timber and Rei's minimap. The rest of the stuff plays nicely with IC2.
Is it possible to uninstall those mods and launch the game without them? This is almost certainly a display issue, so the more likely culprit is the minimap - unless Timber has its own textures. -
In your .minecraft folder, there should be a file called modloader.txt. Please paste it in here (using /spoiler tags).
Basically we want to see what other mods you are using. But before we go there, let's be sure you have the right files installed in the right order: Modloader 1.0 (into the minecraft.jar), ModloaderMP1.0 (also into the minecraft .jar), Forge 1.22 (also into the .jar) and then finally Optifine after all that (be sure you are using a 1.0-compatible version, and that it's installed last). After all that's in, drag and drop the IC2 mod into the /mods folder.
Are you using any other mods?

EE is really fun, but it makes the work to get all the materials too easy for my liking. But don't get me wrong, EE is a really great mod. I just feel better if I dig around for the material rather than create it with my philosipher stone. I do have to say though, destruction catalyst is fun as hell to use to plow through mountains.
Agreed on all counts - it's a fun mod, just needs better balance. But the Destruction Catalyst is for pikers - real men use a Catalytic Lens! Who needs a Quarry? I can make a 9x9 hole to bedrock in about 30 seconds.
-
Wow! Just when you think you've seen it all!
This is honestly, hands-down, the most amazing and innovative mod that IC2's ever seen. Can't wait for more! -
You watched yogscast and followed a design they used which they got from a random person on the internet... Oh well, now you have learned to not blindly follow what yogscast says.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Also, never count on anything but source blocks of water to provide ongoing cooling! Even containment vessels that are cooled by flowing water have it supplied by an un-reachable source (meaning outside the range of what the reactor can evaporate due to heat). I don't think the ocean is a good place for it (besides, what are you planning to power out there?). See the missing water where the reactor was? That just goes to show that blocks in an ocean don't replenish themselves the same way as a man-made vessel full of source blocks. -
As has already been pointed out. this is not TMI related. It's been tested legit. It was legit on my server, too.
Yes, Corvidae mentioned it in a response after my initial post. My comment was not intended to be smug, but anyone who's got any experience with using mods ought to agree that when TMI is mentioned, one needs to eliminate that possiblity before anything else. Even Alblaka has stated that a couple of bugs that got into IC2 1.337 (like the CFpack issues) were due to testers using TMI items and declaring something "working".Given everything I've read, I would not be surprised if it turns out to be related to cell depletion after all.

After just breaking a macerator with my wrench, I feel that the update of this add-on is an urgent priority.
-
Don't let that get in the way of your being smug.
What's "smug" got to do with it? I pointed out that others should check to see if it's a TMI-related issue.
If you doubt that it could possibly be the case, feel free to look around this forum (and the BC forum, and the MCF) and see how often TMI turns out to be the cause, rather than an accessory after the fact.
So the next step, of course, would be for you (and others who have reported the issue) to verify if it happens with crafted reactors as well. This is a very serious issue, no doubt - so let's be sure of the cause, OK?
-
On a somewhat related issue, I notice that the LapPack loses its "charge bar" sometimes. I haven't been able to determine the reason (I suspect it might be when I use the electric wrench). When I place the pack back in my MFE, the bar instantly reappears as full. This leads me to wonder whether it is merely a display issue or if it's something else.
I plan to continue testing - I'll need to find out what's making it disappear, and then run the chainsaw or drill for a while and see if it recharges them even if the bar isn't showing (or if it makes the bar show up again).
Is anyone else encountering something like this? Not seeing anything like that posted around here. The only notable add-on that might affect the issue is SolarHelmets 2.5, and no I'm not using TMI.

I am just trying to take the practical approach here and whenever i read "BUG REPORT" i expect to find something that I (and everybody else) can reproduce using only IC2 and it's prerequisites.
That's it, in a nutshell.
