Even when it is finished, I'd still spam RP2 solar panels if we have a converter. Nikolite and silver would finally be useful for something.

EDIT: if the condensed solars are too cheap, why not alter the recipe - use an energy storage block (batbox, MFE, MFSU) instead of the transformer?

Because an air block is like a Diamond Block. It's THAT amazing. No cost would be enough, from what it seems.

I honestly can't believe people value it so much. If a server admin (of an average, or higher population) was to come in, and tell us the exact amount of Solar Panels (or, the Solar Panel Equivalent (SPE) in Arrays) people are using we could then divide that by how many fit in a chunk (Was in a post above, I believe).

On some servers, there wouldn't be any land, or any sunlight for a REALLY, REALLY LONG WAYS. This honestly wouldn't be an issue if the Mass Fabricator didn't exist- But it does. Therefore the problem exists and needs a reasonable solution. (That doesn't involve telling server admins to tell off their players or toggle them back.)

If anyone brings up the amount of cable and other supplies that are needed... If someone has 50,000 SPE then it's irrelevant.

(OT: Doom was the first Pineapple Sacrifice, it seems. :o)

    Hello everyone.

Last time i have made a Suggestion-List for Minecraft, IC² and RP. After i've registered here, i thought i could add my IC²-Suggestions to the Suggestion-Threads here. I've not read all the Suggestions here, so there could be some duplications to other Threads.

Guess I read as much of your suggestion as you read the forum.

    Hint: I didn't read what wasn't quoted.

Nothing is better then free energy from Sunlight that requires no input from the player.

    Reactors? Costs Uranium.

    Geothermal? Costs Lava.

    Regular? Costs Coal/Charcoal.

Only other ones are Water and Wind, and they require larger areas.

And it IS the Mass Fabricator's fault. Why? I don't see anyone making 50,000 RP2 Solar Panels. Probably because there isn't a RP2 Mass-Fabricator. If Eloraam ever adds that Bluetricity->EU converter, then I'd bet money people would just spam both, all to power a Mass Fabricator.

Dont hate the designer that didnt foresee the problem.

Hate the players that keep using the faulty design even though they know it causes severe problems.

Honestly i think the original purpose of the solar generators never included "Being used in clusterfuck of more than 50+ blocks".

    Energy from Sunlight.

    Mass From Energy.

People will always over do it when you can do something like that.

If there was no Mass Fabricator, then there wouldn't be any point in having giant clusterfucks of Solar Panels. (Ignoring the whole '70 Solar Panels per Overclocked Machine' thing.)

@Raa: Nobody cares about advanced machines :P. Solar arrays are an option because it reduces the server stress of having a infinity number of solar generators because people are dumb enough to not go nuclear.

Currently they're the same mod, so by saying no one cares about them, you're saying no one cares for the Arrays.

Anyways. Al said it's by design to make Server Providers suffer, and to force them to toggle back their players.

So again. I wait for Advanced Machines.

    Already discussed in betatester section.
Implementing compacted solar panels would make solar panels even more overpowered, by nullifying their space requirements.

I tinker with the idea of altering the way solarpanels work (one main panel, to which you attach a set of smaller "panels" (flat)) to make them use less CPU while still requiring (Even more) space.

Aaaaand I wait for Advanced Machines.

I do not intend to add Induction-Machines to IC.
The reasoning behind this is, "smelting" is the most basic MC operation next to crafting.
Macerating, extracting, etc are complex operations. Tech wise, Induction Furnaces are a fine thing, speeding up the simple process.
Complex stuff shouldn't be sped up like that.

As already mentioned, i've had a different OC design in mind. And we're, as mentioned too, thinking about altering it to something more complex.

Time will show, but i, for now, do not intend to have any Induction Macerator in base IC².

Says Al. (Which doesn't mean it's NEVER going to happen- just very, very unlikely.)

When you 'updated Forge' did you just throw the new Forge files into an already modded .jar? (One that had a previous Forge version, essentially.)

    Try with a fresh .jar
