I just can't make myself to like forestry machines, so I will try using the IC² harvester. I used before, and liked, may need to spam a few, but they cover a 9x9 area, I don't think I will use a lot.

For maps, I use Rei minimap, as I can set a waypoint, which emit a beacon of light, so is very easy to use. it sets a point too, that you can see even trough walls.

Gregtech does have White Dyes, but seems that there's not recipe for them: http://ftb.gamepedia.com/Dye_(GregTech_5)
Another source are tulips, but I don't know if you can farm them.

Well, I'm using default ore gen too, and found two veins of quartz until now.
But I spent a lot of time exploring there, looking for Nickel.
I think, at least on nether, you will find it fasters just running, instead prospecting. Just be careful to not get lost

Do you really need so much Nether Quartz? Why?

Also, I was testing so things, and early steam power with lava boiler are waaaay better than coal. I traded my coal boilers for 3 lava boilers. I use a single ULV output hatch as a tank, full with lava cells, and they automatically feed the boilers through Pipes.
Of course, I used a stack of Tin to make cells, but I find way less boring go to the Nether fill them with lava, than plant tree -> cut -> charcoal pit -> harvest charcoal. I don't need to spend more material on axes.

I'm still messing with my machines, my goal for now, Is to stabilize my aluminium production.
I just need a fluid canning and the diesel generator to start using nitro diesel.
After that, I'll upgrade the blast furnace and Diesel Generator to MV, and build a scanner to start messing with crops.

Hardened clay is kinda soft, you get a few stacks very quick.
I think I even used mortars to make dust, because I didn't wanted to wait the macerator. I did a LOT of batteries...

I don't remember having problem with lithium once I reach MV.
But usually I have a Mesa biome near, lots of hardened clay to macerate and electrolyze.

Yeah, I want a truly renovable source; It's a pity that GT only Ethanol ins't viable, I used to work on a Sugar/Alcohol factory, and ethanol had my attention. There was a huge sugar cane plantation near my city.
And while I do have forestry, making ethanol from saplings it's... weird (also, I don't like it's machines);

The IC2 Crop Harvester, well, harvests crops automatically. I think I will try the oil berries, Crop breeding seems fun =). Thanks for the help.

Last time I played, I had a tree farm using thaumcraft golems and an infernal furnace to make charcoal. It was fun, but I want to make something different now (and I am in no mood to advance in thaumcraft again).

I want to mostly use oil sand until I find a renovable source of energy.

About the empting cells, the extractor used to make rubber does not do that?

Anyone know if worths producing nitro diesel to burn into a diesel generator using only oil sand and lv machines?
I'm going to MV age, but I'm tired of charcoal and steam, anyone knows a good, renovable source of energy?

Well, I like bows and arrows;
I would prefer some tech bows, like a composite, and one that shoots energy arrows.

But I'm already asking too much, just want really, to be able to use my bow without going in a chicken killing spree.

Which pipes you used?
I am using Large Wooden Fluid Pipes, and they keep 2 High pressure coal Boilers and one Small bronze boiler full, never had a problem.

On another topic, I was looking for feathers to craft arrows today, and just found myself thinking: I have a factory full with lots of machines and technology, why can't fabricate an artificial substitute to feathers?
Could we have something like a plastic substitute to feathers, please?

Bismuth is almost useless and pretty weak (lv1 - 6400 dur), so I thought I could use at least as an early game tool material, when I want to save Bronze/Iron.

I just found weird, that I couldn't craft a Bismuth Saw, it required a tungstensteel rod. Is that intended?

There's a way to encode a pattern to all ingots to rods, for example, or will need one to each type of metal?
For the Extruder's shapes, there's a way to automate using only one extruder, or I will need a extruder to each shape?
