    The low tech stuff needs no AE stuff to craft, only the API. Only automating the trading would need AE parts. Midgame, the automation part could be bridged by provinding the few needed parts inside the playertown powered by an creative cells or so. Finally in endgame, everything could be build by the player themself inside his own base were the
    playertown becomes the connecting hub for the seperate networks.


    Also it really is complex and no idea how far i will go or if i really will do it. I will likely go around a bit on other forums also and ask there for the demand of better server trading. Should there be enough response i will do it.

    It seems you missunderstood me. AE2 is lategame and i do not plan to change that in any way. My Plan is fully seperate from the storage part.


    The main reason for using AE2 is that it would provide a lot of help while coding all the functions for searching, item handling gui and more. In lategame it would still not change the storage part. Only providing additional functions for automated trading not possible without.

    So it would use the API but not reliant on AE parts ? If I understood this time, it seems amazing. Awfully complex, but amazing.


    EDIT : Realised something. You might have meant you'll require only a few blocks. If that's the case, I guess I can make a few blocks earlier game. Something that wouldn't allow you to use AE, but would allow the machines to work ? That's still way amazing.

    NOPE, you're the one doing the work in the first place and then you'll be heard. Our admin has too much work to do and PFAA isn't planned, coming up with a redundant mod saying you miss it isn't going to cut it. Also it'll break the idea of splitting the oregen between the different dimensions.

    It would be more work indeed. It would slow worldgen down as well. While I COULD definately do it cause I'm used to play with COG, I won't.


    There's still K1 that will still stay alive a long time that has PFAA, as well.


    This server is pretty much my server. ;P While I consider opinions for everything, since I've had a similar pack before, I know what works well and what doesn't, so I did have to use my VETO for a few things.


    PFAA and all the work it comes with won't happen. Maybe next server, when I get more time ? (EDIT : Talking about K 3.0 basic. Last server planned to open. In a probably long time.)


    EDIT : K4 will require new configs since I disabled RC's Blast Furnace and re-enabled the AE Certus Quartz tools. (Told you Gemji ! ;P) Just re-download them.

    I will try once again to update K1 with Bloody's port. Right now. Will tell you how it goes.


    EDIT : I'm not certain. While I did not update UB, it still complained about missing blocks and item.


    Isn't K1 the PFAA-only server ? Could anyone that knows K1 better than I do do a few test ? A quick run around ?


    I still have the backup, so I can use that if needs be. However since I'd like to update K2 as well in 48 hours or so... I'd REALLY like someone to check on things.

    I do get that PFAA was sparse on ores for GT's needs, but I thought you can tweak the rates of deposits and their densities, so that could be solved easily enough. Whatever you think will be good for gameplay and server performance will do I think, but if these werent exclusive to 'realistic' oregen, then I vote for that. What is your mod anyway?

    It is incomplete and unusable atm. Got server midway through making it and I doubt I will ever have time to finish it. I might give the base to someone else, should somebody be interested, if I haven't touched it in 2 months.


    My mod is a geology-based mod relying on COG. Sorta like PFAA. Except more complex. Even more stuff we would not need. ;P


    EDIT : It's also made especially for GT, contrarily to PFAA.

    My own view on the trading...


    No to AE-powered shops. Because AE is OP and will be more late game. Because you know... A few bits of quartz shouldn't give you semi-infinite storage. So that would make it sorta late-game.


    I'd like something IC2-powered, sorta like the trade-O-mat gone better. More items at once, some way to auto-refill... VERY LITTLE power needed. Possibility to turn it on and off with RS, so that way you can set a pressure plate right in front and when people step on it, ta-da ! Store opens. As soon as they go away, store stops using energy. So kinda early-game.


    If we could have 2-3 tiers of it, I'd do something like this...
    Say 4 items for one vending machine made with Steel. 3EU/t.
    Say 8 items for one vending machine made with Al. 2EU/t.
    Then 12 for one vending machine made with SSteel. 1EU/t.


    Less EU/t so you get a reason more to get the more expensive ones.


    Then I guess maybe a 4th tier working with AE and made in Ti would make sense, since I plan to have AE around Ti level. (Because, yes. It really is powerful.)


    However, as far as I'm aware, such a nice system doesn't exist, the trade-o-mats being somewhat similar but too... Un-functionnal. (Single item on display.) I also would be totally unable to do something like that.


    If Bloody thinks it's a nice idea... (I'm sorry to ask you something yet again, though. ;S Wish I'd be a better coder.)

    Also, I REALLY like that idea.

    In all honesty, if I'd want to lag the servers with accurate world-gen, I'd rather use my own mod. More complex, more pretties, I'd even dare say more accurate. (Since I'm using ATG for base and it's much easier to place stuff realistically, else PFAA would pwn anything I'd do. Hands down.)


    Thing is, with 4 servers running and quite a bit of players, I'd rather avoid PFAA. (And even more my own mod, which I think is more suited to SSP.)


    Not to mention that while it does require a slight bit of Geology knowledge... It's also not balanced around GT, and I care about balance A LOT.


    So, no to PFAA. Sorry. Unless everyone starts saying no to world-gen mods and want PFAA real bad. But it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen.

    That's kinda sad. I understand however. Should people keep on hyping it that bad, I suggest you remove it as well. (And avoid them in the future, yes.)
    Although I don't think it's douchey. It was meant to be funny. Can't be douchey. Unless it"s insulting. And this is not.


    Also, 1 copper shouldn't be expensive, since a vein gets you hundreds. I think including higher tier metal in an unprocessed way would be a good thing as well. (I.E Bauxite.)

    Or how about 1:1 ingot to plates but they have to pay for it with money gained in quests?

    How about one ore needed for progression on moon in average/low frequent oreveins. Mars has a second ore for progression in average/low frequency and the moon ore in high frequency. The asteroids have no new progression ore but moon/mars ores in high frequency. Also rare overworld/nether ores should spawn there more frequent. That way those going far trough galacticraft could easily sell ores to others that do not want to do galacticraft.


    Also the town certainly needs a inn with (private?) rooms for beds and a small storage.

    That'd be nice of you. I make really clean scripts, so updating should be a breeze compared to making new scripts, provided you can use some judgement. (Which I think you should manage well.)

    I just remember, is Gendustry the mod that allows adding custom bees? If yes, GregTech bees? Some modpacks add them.

    Yes, gendustry allows custom bees. See Beyond Reality. It has tons of custom bees for GregTech.

    I will need a tiny bit of help with my scripts, should anyone want to help. I've got 80% of mods nerfed already but they're still GT5 format, so I might need some help converting those.
