I'm personally a fan of making my machines flush with the walls/floor, you may also want to consider using construction foam/scaffolds, its a good way to put up walls quickly, and you can embed cables in it.

interesting idea, if I am reading it correctly. It seems to me that this would be a good addon to IC2 (perhaps with a few other reactor components geared for this style of reactor as well?), rather than part of the mod itself

loving this mod!
Not sure if this is a bug or my fault but Ive noticed that if I try to machine gun the plasma cannon for too long the game runs out of memory.
as for a module idea:
I'm not sure if this is within the scope of this mod, but what about a computer craft module for the powertool? the image in my head is something like a little computer craft terminal w/ a wireless node that a player can carry with them, allowing for remote activation of their CC controlled monstrosities! -
This was suggested in the past, I do not remember what the response was though. For what it's worth, I think it's a good idea.

what about placing bee sized hamster wheels next to the apiary?

May I suggest a category for frames friendly reactors? (5 chambers, preferably mark I or mark II)

markI EB frame friendly reactor, 250 eu/t, 3.57 efficiency -
So I was working on a chunk of my factory, and blocks that I trimmed off kept falling between tubing and redstone circuitry, requiring me to tear out a chunk of the machinery to get to it. After the fourth or fifth time this happened, I wondered about how nice it would be to have some way to bring the items to me, hence this suggestion thread. I have no idea what the recipe would be, but the behavior I have in mind would be for left click to drag items/creatures to the player, and right click to push them away. In addition to the intended item retrieval use, a person could have endless fun pushing creepers off cliffs/into traps. Any thoughts on this idea gentlemen?

If you are using straight IC2 and wish to avoid building too many solars, then coalfuel (boosted with whatever dusts you can spare) are the next step after burning straight coal. I would imagine you can move past coalfuel once you find and pump a decent sized lava lake.

As said above, the chest-piece has a VERY high charge capacity, you can probably hug a couple nukes without losing much of your total power.

While I don't agree with the OP of this thread, I do hope he chooses to stick around. People who can post an opinion in a respectful and intelligent manner are a rarity on the internet, and are typically worth having around in my opinion.

The main issue is that minecraft doesn't support mobile light sources, and the designers of this mod are fairly adamant about not messing with base files. If you really want something like this, try petitioning the people responsible for forge, maybe a well written post can convince them to add a hook for it.

I kinda like this idea, a tad whimsical but it sounds like would fit right in alongside the solar panel helmet and such.
-
Well articulated and well reasoned post from what I can read (its been a long day), will reread this after I've had some sleep; but at the moment I can't find a fault in OP's reasoning other than to say that such a major shift in the mod is likely to be a low priority for the designers.

I can see it being a devastating PVP item in the hands of a clever player; or hilarious in the hands of an inept one.

I think this is one of the few threads in which I was hoping FenixR had posted in as I clicked it. Glad to see that I wasn't disappointed.

as long as the sprite looks like the sonic screwdriver, this has my +1

+1, I want my fix

sorry to hear about the loss, hope you find some way to recover the data.

generally the addition of a new material is discouraged unless there are enough uses to justify the new id (and possibly a new map if it is to be gathered from the world)
