I honestly like close to everything about the nuclear revolution. There are however two minor things I do miss, though. The external cooling was, well, kinda cool. I'd like to see it come back, even if its only minor.
the second thing is cooling cells - they are both ridiculously pricey and they are not remotely useful. under normal circumstances no design uses them, which is a shame.

Basically, trying something new in my SSP world. EU production using the turbine from railcraft.
Now, the problem I have is that I don't feel it worth to create everything already when I now that with standard config settings your average eu is a lot lower than using nuclear eu - with a significantly higher cost I might add.
So, I wondered; does the nuclear reactor in steam mode output more steam if I change my config setting to, for example, 20?

they produce heat as long as there is an adjecent component that can accept heat is my understanding. the only way they stop heating is when the component has a temperature as high as #heating cells*1000.

if you changed the server properties, everything will work correctly. your NEI recipe will look like the wrong one though, but the old recipe will work :p
But yes, change it on the client aswell and it should sync nicely. if you do not know where it is, just open your client, go to texture packs, click on open texture pack folder and it should take you to the right directory.

I had several of those last map I played (was the 1.4.2 version of IC²) and I would get purple dye. is it a recent (1.4.5) change? or a bug? I recon it'll be fixed in the current version so I better get out the crops again

I agree. Right now ULV cables are only used for wiring solars/wind/water mills. I would like to see this happen. i can also hardly see why this would be "overpowered". yes, it has a low loss rate, but the speed at which you can transfer power more than justifies that. one would need to place several dozen ULV transformers to get a decent eu/t through a cable - and that takes up space and resources.

Don't really know venomelia gives grin powder- that comes from spider eyes. all flowers give dyes, and venomelia shares its dye with tulips. you occasionally get poisoned by walking through the crops or by harvesting it, as far as I know

Heh, tried it multiple times now, to no avail. I keep getting a little overheating. I managed to get it to a mark III with about 20% of a total run before cooldown. Ofcourse, you can make it a SUC type reactor, but I figure you'll want at least a mark II reactor.

i go for frame quarries but until then I mine by hand assisted by a quarry. :3

not really. overclocked heat vents draw heat from the hull if they can. In other words, the heat from that lonely cell is taken from the hull by the overclocked vents
by trial and error you'll start to understand how it all works, eventually.
