Consider for a sec that IC2 its the only mod you have in minecraft:

Now Manned Watermills are that good because they are one of the best early games generators but they need user input to be that effective, that restrict them from going to the mid/late game as a good energy source like the geogenerators and similars.

Then we have the unmmaned mode of the Watermill that isnt that badly considering it works all day and night (And during rain) unlike the solar gen, and doesnt break from producing too much energy like the windmill.

The point is: Watermills (Like most stuff in IC2) its balanced with IC2 itself, place another mod and you risk destroying the balance IC2 has with itself.

Its fine and all talking about bringing real life physics to a game, but its a completely different thing coding it.

To properly implement things like this you would need to rework from the energy net, to the generators all the way to the machines. Not to mention that you would have to rework from something simple to something a whole lot complex (Because real life physics are a clusterfuck to understand and to properly do something similar you actually have to understand it).

But why didnt they made it possible to have 512, 1024 or even endless height? Performance issues because chunks are 16x16 instead of 16x16x16?

Because there is a mod for that kind of thing (And Performance issues, indeed). If they took 256 as the new height then they plan on doing something (vainilla wise) with it otherwise they could have left it a 128.

The nether and the end are usually considered balloney in a similar manner as enchantments (recently removed) and potion system.

Besides i think it is possible to find a stronghold on old worlds, you just need to travel far enough to chunks you have never have loaded and pray that a stronghold its nearby. Alternatively you could NEI the portal frame blocks and make your portal (Although if you destroy the frame blocks after you made the portal, the portal itself will still be there and you cant place anything in there).

Better idea: how about refillable spray cans that accept dye via the canning machine, and can paint about 4x longer than the Painters?

Try painting a room this size

with a painter or that spray can that you made 4x more durable but considerable a lot more annoying to refill.

(btw if you are curious its a 32x32x14 room, also painters last for about 32 blocks before needing a refill)

I have a feeling that would require base class editing.

Then again... I have a feeling all mods will have to be rewritten to work with 1.2.

Ehhh you know that forge basically edit base classes right? its a matter of just asking lex to add the hooks/edit the class if necessary.

And i dont think a rewrite for mods its not going to be necessary yet (Unless those mod did something to terrain generation i think)

Its been sorta discontinued due to Electrical Wrench new "Lossless" Mode, where it will have a 100% chance of not breaking your machine but uses like 10k eu per use. (This is in 1.64)

Well you cant really blame al for the watermill, since water blocks in minecraft are the most weird thing ever.

Thats only if the people that are part of that server are total brutes or completely random people. If you play on a real private server with people that know each other or that at least arent total brutes, things like this make the game more fun to play.

I don't see the point in this- It would only lead to people fighting on SMP for 'better lots', or hoarding entire deserts to themselves to sell to other players for insane prices.

That, and Solar Panels already benefit from being in a Desert, as it does not rain there.

That fighting would certainly be... entertaining, considering the PvP expansion al is preparing, it should make for interesting situations.

Or can we just get the ability to color hardened cf blocks ?

We can already do that. My suggestion its a method for doing huge or decently sized buildings with CF blocks already colored, since coloring the hardened walls manually using the painters its a paint (pun intended) in the ass.

This little project would have taken me at least 4x or 6x more time in painting if it wasnt for creative mode flying and ability to conserve the durability of items (Since you have to recolor the painter every 20 blocks or so).
