One of the reasons they are not enchantable is that they are indestructible so they won't ever break. Since Alblaka is already considering silk-touch on Construction Foam as total OP, I guess he won't find an indestructible Fortune X Drill balanced.
Besides we already a sort of fortune "Enchantment", its called the macerator.
-
It's just my opinion, but I prefer enchantments to work with drills and miners.
Not too logic as any magic. It's powerful, but hard to obtain. 1st post show good reasons.
Is it possible to allow enchantments on laser?
Power, Punch, Flame as a bow;
As a mining tool Fortune and Silk Touch by chance. No go, al consider enchantments to be imbalanced and with a reason. Most likely they will be removed from all IC2 electric items in a future update.

The suggestion tag its because whenever a thread gets too old, its moved into the archive, and that particular place dont have specific subforums like this. So the initial tag is to give it order when threads are moved to the archive.
-
They can use energy crystals, i have yet to test those with lapotron.
-
Enchants arent supposed to work with any related to IC2 because al said and i quote "I find enchantments to be imbalanced".
-
Use energy crystals/Lapotrons.
Problem solved.

Now that i remember, the most obvious way to show that eloraam does actually help around the modding community is the meta block method for storing new blocks and stuff, iirc the one who originally developed (Or at least played around with it a lot) was eloraam, and as you can see many modders today use her method to save that huge amount of blocks that gets added with every mod.
-
But forge its not a creation of eloraam, it was orinally made by spacetoad and many others have watched over the project as their mantainers, Eloraam was one of those (I think lexmannos its the most recent one) and she did many good things for the forge project but that it, she doesnt rule forge nor does she have any right to "Veto" or simply change the basic structure of forge if she doesnt have a good justification for doing so.
On the other hand, Redpower which is fully creation of her mind and work, something that she has the total right off, and if something happens that involves redpower and she doesnt like, she can pretty much vanish that "Something" into the 8 circle of hell if she wants to, its her work, her time, her rules.
(Btw my remark was mostly because i saw nobody replied in days, did not know that saul and headhunter was banned, and i also found insulting the comment i quoted on that post)

If Al rally wants to nerf CASUCS, then i don't think there is a reason to spent SO MUCH recourses on those plantings/collant cells etc.
It would be cheeper to make some other generators, those will output more then nuclear reactor will do.If i didn't to fail to understand you.
I dont know al politic according to casuc, but i do know that al will most likely NOT make casucs even more easier to do.
-
You know as much as AL does NOT want CASUC or Ice or bucket, i find it hard to believe that no one has pointed out that a CASUC is the most realistic reactor.
In the real world No one would build a MK2-5 they don't have timing circuits at 3 mile island they have control rods, the coolant is added at a specific rate for the specific amount of heat the reactor produces. Granted 3 mile island nearly caused some bad fall out but that was due to faulty control systems. They dont turn the reactor on for 5 minutes and then let it cool for a hour.
They do how ever have pipes or tubes that send coolant to the reactor how ever that coolant doesn't just go poof it goes to a heat exchanger.
The most realistic design for a reactor in IC2 would be to add a cooling gauge similar to what build craft engines have. if the coolant is in there the reactor doesn't blow. It would also make sense to add a heat gauge similar again to what build craft engines have. And having a way to pipe the coolant to the reactor. that's the most realistic way to build a reactor with build craft.
To be honest the heat plating an, coolant cells and IHD should all be built outside the reactor the only thing going in should be uranium.
You fail to realize that in real life Nuclear Reactors are CONSTANTLY supervised by human manpower, realistically speaking, automation of nuclear reactors should never be possible, and i believe that al doesnt want to make such methods easier within is own mod.
Remember that all mods are usually standalone and balanced specifically as if that were the only mod in minecraft, integration do happens but only after it was completely considered to not mess with the internal balance of IC2.
Buildcraft integration with Nuclear reactors will pretty much break the internal balance so its obvious to be a big no. And yes using Redpower/Buildcraft with most mods breaks the internal balance of said mods, but that doesnt mean the devs of said mods should make it even more easy to do so (Unless its part of their design).

ELoraam's a very decent coder, but an uncreative person, and RP2 can decompile itself for all I care.
Comments like this are highly unwelcomed/unnecessary, especially on a thread that i believe was finally put to rest. If you (Or anyone else) dont really have anything more intelligent to give to this discussion, then let it rest peacefully.
-
OP, you would get a extra space in the reactor for not placing any bucket/block of ice, and the constant supply of (Unlimited) water would keep the reactor perma cooled.
I wont expect BC integration of water to come ever.

If you want this to survive a mod visit, put "[Suggestion] Algae" in your title

I get the feeling that ComputerCraft would have been released even if it could not interface with RedPower - as it does not strictly rely upon RedPower for its use.
That's an important distinction.Computer craft was released Even before the integration with Redpower where in place.
-
Some few things to note before saul start talking too much without going anywhere that we havent hear already:
-Computer craft its a STANDALONE mod.
-Computer craft doesnt touch much of Redpower code.
-Eloraam and the creator of Computer Craft talked before hand and decided that integration wasnt such a bad thing.
-Eloraam does indeed will create her own computing system for Minecraft, but since computer craft its a standalone mod that doesnt require anything of redpower to work, she does not have any authority over computercraft.
-Unlike the coversion system made by immibis, where it needed Redpower to even do something, so eloraam did have authority over that.Cant think of anything else, but i guess that should cover the basic gist.

I didnt mention cavern i just said you cannot place them underground. Any block except glass stops the energy production. Using glass isnt exactly 'hidden'
Well this is minecraft so logic doesnt necessary apply every time...
You could build a pretty big mountain but leave the top uncovered.
-
The only thing i consider a "Real" obligation from devs to users/community its giving support and bug fixing, Beyond that the Dev dont really own you anything to anyone but themselfs, its their own creation they can do whatever they want with it.
The only reasons i see a dev doing a mod are:
-For fun, when you have the knowledge and a idea, nothing better than making it real.
-Skill developing, nothing better than constantly practicing how to code and see how one can improve their coding ability.
-Customization, they realized the main game was missing something essencial to make the game more enjoyable, so they decided to improve the game with their own idea.To each developer its their own decision to whenever make public or not their code/mod, they dont own anything to the community when making their creation public, they simply decided to share what they made nothing more nothing else.

Solar panels arent meant to be used underground i mean did you ever see someone placing solar panels in a cave in reallife?....Switch to nuclear or water power.
Hes putting the solar panel Above the cavern base not inside, he want a way to hide the solar panels above.
But yeah its not posible, any block you place will most likely block the view from the sky condition.

Bumping is also a banable offence... so he's better off reposing because some of us (i.e. me) did not get a chance to see this the first time...
Honestly, some of you could actually visit the Suggestion subforum and go beyond page 1 from time to time. But W/E the damage is done already.
