It's a generator...oh wait.
Thanks.
But I also threw a battery in, drowned the machine, and waited...
Nothing.
How long did you wait? The "Power by outside water" is currently bugged, and only producing 1/14th of what it's supposed to.

I tried a couple of arrangements with generators and cables but the cables never have EU(when i use the ec manipulator)
is there any problem with these on servers?
Have you managed to make them work in your servers?
The EC manipulator has issues with it's prnt.line function at the current moment in SMP. If you notice, it also doesn't tell you the output of your MFE/MFSU when you change it either.
I'm going to assume you still have sufficient power going to the miner? It still takes power to extract the pipes.
Its a water mill, connected to an iron furnace, whats not to understand?
First off, a single untended watermill with only one side to water will generate like, 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000001 EU/s (exaggeration, but you get the point)
Second, you need an ELECTRIC furnace, not an iron one. The iron one is just more efficient than stone, nothing else.
See, I couldn't see the water mill.
I don't quite understand what I'm looking at here...
Looks like I got the single player mode workin again but not server. I downloaded a new " minecraft_server.jar " put in modloadermp server 1.6.5, then applied I.C7.20 and uploaded to server... Put config file in the same location of the minecraftserver file but stil no go. Did I miss something is there a option in the config file to turn it on for the server?
So you copied the contents of the "server" folder only from the IC zip correct?
Back to the topic at hand now, instead of Squabbling about how steel is made:
I don't think Al will implement the Trunk idea, due to it being a purely "ascetic" suggestion. I've tried setting up something similar to what you're suggesting in my test world (Very small scale), and with some creative wiring and so Redstone-Fu with a switch block. I could easily bleed some energy off the line into Nearby MFSU for what ever I'd need it for.
Replace the bottom iron ingot with a refined Ingot.
Possibly, as I simply don't believe that Al can code a Nether-Normal world energy transport system.
Traveling between dimensions unloads the non-active world's chunks. Thus "Freezing" everything.
Well I have started from scratch, forced update to start fresh. Opened up winecraft.jar and applied the modloader then modloadermp and ic7.20. I then edited the confit files as stated on tutorial and put in .mincraft folder and bin folder. The problem I have now is the game will not launch and flashes an error that disappears the second it comes up!!! Grrr
Error Log please.
The nether? I would think miners + geos in the nether would supply you with all the power you would ever need.
Geos aren't "Free Energy" anymore, thus will need some tending to eventually. Also, going to the nether was just an example, like getting your foot-hold there. It could be the other way around, transferring from your geo farm.
This was what I meant. This would be a lot more compact way to route electricity around. And yea, if this gets added the steel would need to be crafted in some kind of poles to make the trunk.
So it'll have it run a lot of power through a small set of lines? That can already be achieved with High-voltage lines, and adding them together with a switch cable, and wouldn't need the addition of a new block and newer materials (If I get what you're suggesting).
Contact Talonius via Private Message here or on the minecraft forum for more direct help for installing Buildcraft along IC on your server (He's done it, where I have not yet).
In the mean time, I'm going to lock this thread since your IC installation issue was resolved.
well i got it to work single player mod, but still no luck on the dedicated server! frustrating!
You're using Both versions of Flan's MLMP with their correct jar file (Client side with Client side and Server with server) right? If you do a mix-n-match of the two, you won't be able to craft things properly.
Locking Due to similar suggestion already approved. Suggestion: Partially depleted items
Recipe is much too demanding.
Also, if you really have the need to move that much energy, your collection system must be so perfect that you can just refill it easily.
I kinda like the idea, except for the 93.333333(etc)% efficiency. I would like to transfer energy en mass to the nether, without making several trips with inventories full of batteries... I know Al's mentioned something about making an Energy Storage Device, which it's only purpose is to move power from an MFE/MFSU to another one (And we may not even need it if Al gets the Nether Tech done when he's on Summer Holidays from Uni).
Please Enlighten me on what you mean with the purpose of the first suggestion: Is it some sort of energy storage device?
As for the second Suggestion: There's already some Alternative Energy Generators in the game (Such as the water wheel, which can supply power from water simply touching it), so I wouldn't think that any more would need to be implemented (your idea of a "hydroelectric power plant" already exists in the game by arranging water mills correctly).
hmm, well like i stated i followed the tutorial which says to use the flans mod which i did?! Any ideas why after building the treetrap it disappears right away?
The server's not recognizing the item (Much like it does when you try to craft a Bat-pack), so you probably didn't install it correctly. Did you copy the contents of the "server" folder into the server jar?
I posted a tutorial in the tutorials section of this forum of how to install it correctly (Also, make sure you have Flan's MLMP client side too).
