You should probably run MC from a Batch or Shell file (Depending on OS), but I'm going to say you fall into this category:

+ IC²'s new sound system could possibly use 200MB more RAM than your PC can provide. Be sure not to allocate more than [Your RAM] - 200MB, or errors could occur.
If you happen to encounter this error, you can fix it by downloading Player's SoundSystem Fix and fully replacing the folder given (Delete the folder from your minecraft.jar, and replace it with the new one provided).

Setting Up IndustrialCraft² On A Server:
(This requires that you at least know how to set up a vanilla server, so I will not go into unneeded details).

    • Start by downloading the minecraft_server.jar file from here .
    • Open the minecraft_server.jar file and copy in the ModLoaderMP server file (Use SDK's version for Minecraft version 1.2.3 or later).(No longer needed after IC2 version 1.95 for MC 1.2.5)
    • Copy in the Minecraft Forge (Server side).
    • Similar to the client, just copy the IC² jar file into the server's parent folder's mods directory.
    • Start up the server to generate the config file, and get to work on Terraforming the planet with your friends!

Regularly, it is stated "that was fixed, wait until the next release", is there a reason why there can't be more regular beta builds, or some sort of nightly build? There's nothing wrong with allowing more people to test, as long as you give a recommended build, and an unstable build, and it would only improve the speed of testing. :D

I assure you, there is good reason for not having Nightly builds:

    • We have a strong testing team (cvl and Killerbeez break things like it's their job on a server)
    • We're trying to stray away from the 5 updates in a day (e.g. When Al implemented 3 new features and a few bug fixes in one day back in IC1), then having users on five separate builds, all with issues that were fixed in latter builds.

I understand the want for nightly builds, but trust me, our testing team has very capable hands, making your play experience better as a whole.

Yeah, I noticed this earlier, even "dialing" up Al's blog was slow (I call it dialing, as it seems to fit, and I'm a major SG-1/Atlantis fan/nerd).

That aside, I think the DDoS came from those IC2 haters, or those ragin' against us about the Yogbox problem. Dunno.

It actually come from the influx of people looking at the wiki for recipes. I'm sure Imer can back this up with traffic reports from when his host flips out. xD

On the one hand it's not right to use somebodys work without permission OR promote such doing.

This is the heavier hand of the two, but I'm not saying it's the wrong one entirely. Take Minecraft as a whole, for example: Take it's 3 million strong fanbase (Paid members), you cannot tell me that each and every person that now owns Minecraft, purchased it right away, before even playing it. It's due to their love of the game that they paid and supported Notch, and Team Mojang. This leads to the other hand:

On the other hand this WILL boost IC²'s popularity. Big Time.

Since you're making mods, for your enjoyment (I recall this being stated somewhere) and not for the money, it should be flattering that you'll be having a large increase in fans due to a high-profile Publicity Team, The Yogscast, reviewing your mod (Although it was in modpack that didn't have the Necessary permissions).

A compromise, if I may suggest one, would be to allow the Yogscast to publish the part 2 of their review of the Technic Pack, upon them agreeing to admit the pack was compiled without the necessary permissions and a possible re-visit to IC2, once it's in a more finished state.

I am in no way agreeing with what happened here, but I'm just trying to help provide some insight into weighing the options.
