this can now be done with Vanilla MC using Redstone Lamps and a redstone Current. but i believe that will be one of the functions with the luminators after they are re-worked.
Redstone current lights are useless, everything should use EU's even RedPower Lights.. .. I say =) Well MC lights usea glowstone yes.. But they should also use EU's when using IC
How ever.. Iluminators should have second mode? or totally different illuminator "megalator" =D lols Spot Lights!! =) yes Spot lights should be added To IC not to MCvanilla but to IC so they use EU's

I know this. Just adding my voice to the list of ppl who want this to happen. However What is the implementation and how does it work.. That is what i'm after... And server side implementation that crops won't grow on certain biomes..
For Agriculture purposes this would be a good idea..
I was doing some building In a Ice Plains Biome and came up with this idea
The idea was to add an machine that will terraform area/areas to different type of biome!
And to disable growth of normal wheat in Ice plains biome and desert biome. Maybe you could develop a wheat type that will grow there.. But You can allso spend EU's <- LOADS of EU's to make your biome different.. (And you would have to keep on spending EU's to sustain the biome type.
I was building a green room in the ice plains biome and this came to my mind..
Maybe the machine could be air condition unit. One unit per one chunk? Maybe, if it is possible to change a chunk's biome..
Very nice mod! I love it! You should add a machine whick gives automatically the coordinates to the rockets.
Something like : Rightclick the rangefinder, rightclick the machine to transer the coordinates, the machine will automatically give the coordinates to the rockets in the range of 1 block

Hi. I was wondering about the Fusion Reactor and the amount of energy needed to kick start the reactor.. It seems rather small... Could there be a change, so you would need
1 million EU's or even more to kick start the process.

Finally, NO THREADJACKING ABOUT THE MERITS OF THESE. I KNOW THEY ARE OVERPOWERED. SOLARS ARE OVERPOWERED FULL STOP, OK? This mod exists to make the big server guys' lives easier because they don't watch their server's CPU disappear when people build giant great big solar arrays.
Moderators can I please request we start deleting threadjacks about how overpowered these are? We know already. This is a stopgap measure until solars are removed entirely from IC2 or a better solution (like Al's actual array idea) comes along.
Solar should not be removed from IC..
First Can you make it configurable so I can change the power outputs of different panels?
Second.. THE lag is not fault of Solar array, it is IC's fault. It's way to handle EU packets.. And the EU unit in common.. It should be reworked to be "Amp's And Voltage system"
Missiles no longer crash SMP clients, but we're still having a little trouble with passenger missiles and GUIs. At this rate I'm fairly confident that there will be a public SMP-compatible release on Saturday. Next on the agenda is the missile defense laser, for the sake of multiplayer balance.

SMP is mostly functional, though with some graphical issues. Missiles intermittently crash the game. I may have a test build up fairly soon...

Yes I will continue to develop the mod but slow down a bit and and what I think I enjoy it. I'll try no longer to be the Ultra SMP 'anti-Grifer' Mod build.
I published the source code (open source) and anyone who wants can build an anti griffer mod it
I program the mod for me and others like it when they can use in you.
The beta version 6pre1 will be the first new step.
I kicked the Inhibitior field and fix the MFFS nuclear reactor containment for IC1.70 SSP have fun...
the next time I will in little small steps to rebuild network code (use IC API) will also comes a SMP version of BETA 6

The defense grid is so that once you actually get a shield up, you don't have to worry about players sneaking in or monsters spawning inside. (assuming you can afford the defense grid, it won't be a cheap upgrade and it will increase the energy cost of the shield itself)
To make it more balanced, it won't "magically" zap intruders, the cannon teleports moving bullets to the target, using the magic of endermen teleportation + an IC2 teleporter. The ammo it uses can become exhausted, so there is a reason to still light your base and you will not be completely safe even with the upgrade. (just mostly safe. The idea of this addon is to add a legitimate way WITHOUT the lameness of world-guard to protect yourself in SMP. It has to be industrial, and have logical advantages and drawbacks since it works based on technology, not admin magic.)

I'd like to comment though, that the need for the anti-grief measures is easily done with bukkit support.
I'm aware of that mod, but I'm not such a huge fan of non-Forge mods, and I don't like its feel so much. Moreover, it would make sense for Kentington's satellite system to be able to do this, and it would have a very good feel to it with the rest of IndustrialCraft in my opinion.
At any rate, it would be nice to have an alternative to the Wireless Redstone mod.

Piece of cake to make it do that. However, since the dirt and water doesn't drop, it can't be used to mine anything. Materials broken with the upgrade are destroyed.
Any particular reason you want it to work this way?
Reason why i would like this to happen, is that even tough you don't get the resources you can dick a massive cave with it... And am in the group that thinks shouldn't be too easy in minecraft.

When you remove dirt/water with the upgrades it will use insane/moderate amounts of power.
Me 3, mining moon is A great thing to have.. And all the best for the mod maker, hope you won't be over run with work.
