is greg's vacuum freezer broken? I put 9 MFSUs on a line and hooked up a MV transformer, yet its still insufficient power to make vacuumed hardened steel thing. Bug? If not, that is really bad.

Maybe you place the MV transformer wrong, check if the 3 dotted face connect to the HV line. If anything else fails, try connect it directly to generator

And yes, living underground need to have farms (tree, plants and animals), underground quarry, power generation system (I'm lucky to get a huge lava lake near me) and base defense system (I use HV cables and tesla coils) but eventually they are destroyed by admins and ops abusing their creative/godlike power...

If you can have EE, use collector/duplicator flowers to dupe lava cells and feed it to geogens. If collector is banned, change the collectors to mk3 antimatter relays and feed it with several cobblegens

Well, there is one inherent flaw in this suggestion: Why do we need the optics cable in the first place? We already have a powerful cable that conduct electricity at reasonably high efficiency. The only thing that I know that light energy transfer is better than direct electricity link is when we need to beam energy or we need to bring the power through harsh electromagnetic environment (like in MRI) and that as far as I know doesn't exist in Minecraft. How about EMP proof system? If only IC2 dev work together with Calclavia to make the ICBM EMP can fry IC2 stuff... Or give the light some advantage over conventional method of transferring power...
