Hinder creativity? How? You do realize we've been making mods with ZERO support, any "official" support can only open new outlets, and if we don't agree with those outlets we continue doing it the old fashioned way, without official support.

True as that maybe, it can come at a price. Y'all are focusing on solely the SMP aspects here, where as the announcement says that eventually Bukkit will be both SSP and SMP. My fear is that the bukkit team is going to do everything in their power to stop MCF from continuing and that will be the last time I update Minecraft. I love what the MCF team is doing with the API and it is amazing how far the mods connected to the API have come since its release. I remember when IC was just introducing teleportation lol.

I know how much I miss it right now as I am stuck on 1.2.3 and (shuddering when saying this) playing with BTW as nothing is really updated with, but the day that MCF, RP2, BC3, and IC^2 are fully up and running BTW is going to meet the recycling bin!

I will admit that I have never really messed with bukkit as all my mods are not bukkit supported (at least they were not back than, now BC and RP2 both have ports). I fully support a simpler system of deploying mods rather than the current system* that is in place now, but I really do feel for all the mod developers out there who will have to (in some cases) completely re-write the mod so it works in the new API. I foresee several mods collapsing under this. I also get the sense that bukkit is only going to work on servers unless there is a re-write of the code or possibly have a SSP API as well. The downside to that is players would be forced to choose SMP or SSP when considering mods and developers would have to write two sets of code if they are planning for the mod to be available on both sides.

*by current system in place I am referring to modloader, modloadermp, and forge to the jar file in precisely that order.

So I just read the bukkit team offically joined with Mojang and I am already wondering what the future has in store for IC^2 and MCF. I will admit that I do not know much about bukkit to begin with, other than it is a plugin platform for the minecraft servers. I do remember Jeb making comments that the API "could be" based off of Bukkit. How will this effect the SSP of minecraft if at all, and how will IC^2 adapt to any changes if bukkit becomes the official api?

Okay I have to weigh in on this one. First off I do not agree with the attitude that the dev has on this posting. It is childish and completely unprofessional. If any of my designers had this attitude towards clients, they would be seeking new employment. What Alblaka and his team is doing is not very dissimilar from what my company does (albeit my company is focused on web design and graphic design), and in both fields your going to have customers/clients who are going to make demands/requests. This mod has historically been a interestingly developed mod with a iron fist rule by alblaka (banning people for asking about status updates when the game client is upgraded or blocking people for not formatting their subjects correctly), no disrespect to Alblaka and the team as a whole. They are doing something that I can only imagine myself being able to do.

Secondly, I personally think that this addon does not detract from minecraft or IndustrialCraft2 at all. I think this mod enhances it further by expanding on the power systems (sadly I haven't had a chance to play with the solar panel arrays yet) and the machinery of IndustrialCraft2. I would love to see it integrated into IC2, but you can't have everything in a mod and that is why we have addons. Frustrating as it is, it is again apart of the game and we sit and wait. People would be less upset if there is regular updates on the progress of the mod/addon (regular being more than 2 updates). In my company the designers are REQUIRED to communicate updates with the clients everyday, these progress reports let my clients know how their project is progressing and creates a relationship that is beyond just creating something and moving on to the next customer #.

Now if Alblaka happens to read this, then I would suggest he has a private discussion with the whole team and posting etiquette.

and to Zip, waiting patiently for this wonderful addon :)

I am looking for someone to build a texture pack addon based on Defscape 64x for:
    IndustrialCraft^2
-Advanced Machines v3.x (addon and not updated as of yet)
-Thermometer (addon and not updated as of yet)
    Buildcraft 3.1.2
    -AdditionalBuildCraftObjects (sub mod)
    Redpower2 PR4d
    Railcraft 3.0
    Wireless Redstone

http://defscape.tumblr.com/</a> Link to defscape texture pack

I tried putting my knowledge of photoshop (certified) to use and make the texture pack additions on my own, but I haven't had any success at making them seamless lol. I guess I should just stick to restorations.

I am really sorry if this discussed elsewhere in the forums, but I am unable to locate it.

How long is a reactor cycle? I mean in minutes/seconds not in ticks. I ask because I am seeing some designs that can only last x cycles.

Yeah I already tried that and it didn't help. If I try ticking on the reactor it says 0EU as well.

Try breaking one of the HV cables then placing it back.

    **** EDITED ****

Found the issue with my setup I had the HV transformer flipped around now it runs. I am not getting enough ice into the reactor fast enough to keep it from melting down. I used the electric thermometer and measure the hull temp it stayed at a constant 20. As I said though I am having to stand guard with additional ice blocks to keep the ice from running out. I have 3 transposers hooked up to the personal safe to pull the ice out 3x faster. I will also say this is INCREDIBLY LAGGY!

I will have to settle for something smaller to handle my future base needs.

I love the idea of this reactor, but I have a issue. I tried using the test world save you included only to be hit with a saving chunks crash right away. I have the reactor cooling completely setup, but no EU is being generated when the reactor is in operation. I can't tell if I am missing something here or not. This is on my test world. I am not going to even begin to waste resources until I know I can duplicate the design.

Some reason I thought it would be more technical than that. I mean take into account the corporation I am in for EVE online has everything setup to the point that you register with the in game browser and it uses your logged in character for the username. From that one registration you can access Mumble, killboard, and everything. So I figured someone had written a payment system that would automatically do the whitelist for paying subscribers.

I have a question... How do you setup a pay2play server. I am running on a host right now and I would love to open it to the public, but it is expensive already (22 per month 1gb+1gb burst). If I had a source of income to support the server I would open it in a heartbeat.

Yeah I noticed the drill still works through the redstone fast, but I was more concerned about the excess time when mining tin, copper, and uranium. It has been fixed so that will be something to look foward to in the next release :)

I haven't tested the other bronze tools, but I can say that the bronze pickaxe is taking a long time with IC2 ores. Normal ores it cuts through them (exception redstone, which saddens me) fast.
