I finally had a chance to sit down and try and do a bit of labeling in fireworks. This is only an example of Tier 0 to Tier 1 achievements.

As it says in the image, I don't know how many achievements can be added to the game, but this would serve as a guide for players who are trying to swim through all the complex machines and items to give them a basic guide to building in the IC2 world.

My problem is finding any amount of them at all. I had to use TMI to spawn in saplings for my world. I generated a random seeded world. The other problem I have with them is for another thread, but I guess I can say it here as well. When you hit them with a tree tap, the resin goes flying all over the place.

    My Ideas

I do apologize Alblaka. I looked to see if you had opened this up for me, but I didn't see it and this has been one of the longest and hardest days of my life. Above though is my ideas for using the achievement system. I had more ideas, but right now my mind is lost in the fact that we are about to lose a dear family member. I will expand on it more when everything settles down again, because I had a great idea for flowing the achievements together.

Hey all love the new the new mod so far. I had a thought, why not put in an achievement system. It could be organized like this:

    Tier/Step/optional step | Achievement Name | Description
0-0 - Get Sticky - Collect Resin from a rubber tree.
0-1 - Bouncy - Melt resin into rubber.
    0-1-1 - High Jump - Make a trapoline.
0-1-2 - Soft Landing - Make a pair of rubber boots.
0-2 - Apprentice Electrician - Make some copper wire.

and so on. Each tier moves player further along and gives them an idea where they should be building.

    Tier 0 - Introduction
Tier 1 - Basic Machines (Macerator, Electric Furnace, and Extractor) and have it finish with a "bronze age" where players have to craft a bronze pickaxes (and have optional for the rest of the tools/armor)
Tier 2 - Power (starts simple by building a generator, and finishes with building solar panels)
Tier 3 - Wiring (using Transformers, storage systems, and so forth)
Tier 4 - Nuclear age (where it all finishes up with building a reactor, and eventually the advanced armors)

Or something like this. I think it would be cool and would help people who get easily confused by all the stuff find their way.

As the subject states. I tried using the traditional recipe of 2x cable (now copper wire), 3x tin, 1x redstone drawn in the correct pattern. However, I am not getting an output. I noticed there is a new way of making cable which uses 3x redstone and 2x rubber. I tried doing that one and I didn't get cable from that either. Currently the only way I am getting RE Batteries which is spawning them in with TMI.

I was looking at the source of the main page for the wiki and I was wondering how you guys did that. I am good in html/css and I am seeing a ton of markup (wiki based markup I assume) that I do not reconize. I was thinking of using something similar to your navbox to separate off the addons by developer. I just don't see how you guys pulled it off, but your the gods who brought us IC and IC2 :)

Not to step on Tehkrush but he has no desire of taking plasticraft to SMP. I would love to see plastics get added in. Plastics are used widely in industry and it would be fitting to see them added. Possible uses could include wrapping machine (much like the canning machine) but the difference is that it would wrap a single piece of food (bread, fish, pork) into a neat stackable pile and can be broken open the same way as cans. The only difference is that you would get the normal restoration of hearts based on the food.

oh no I wasn't implying that you guys should make any kind of adventure mod. I was thinking that you guys could do a sandbox style mod with the complex machines and wiring systems. Aether is nice and all, but it gets rather boring fast as it isn't for SMP (yet) and down right repetitive. The big bonus of you guys working together on a single mod that incorporates all the aspects of your individual mods is that us non-coding masters wouldn't be worried about the mods not working when something new comes out (like mineforge or buildcraft2).

I also agree with you 100% IC/BC/RL/WR will completely outrun adventure mods like Aether.

That is rather depressing. Is there any plans to do some sort of fix while we wait for IC2? On the same note I said this on eloraam's thread, you guys should get together and write a mod like Aether, but an industiralized version :) Eloraam, SpaceToad, ali4z/Chicken_bonez, and you. I think it would be the nuke bomb of all the mods out there. It is just a thought though :)

Okay I have an interesting question that doesn't fit into any of the categories. How did you all configure the ip for Industrial Rage to be ir.industrial-craft.net ??? I am stumped as it would be much easier for my users to connect via my domain name instead of an IP address. I tried routing the A-record to my ip and it worked for web, but not for the server itself.
