I fully support this idea. I like all the features, except maybe climbing. I don't want electric walls that are climbable. The reason this would be better than uninsulated wires is that it would not constantly EAT power to be on. I don't know if it would be the most useful, but I hate the look of iron fences and they are so yester-tech!

Craft with an X of Refined Iron to make 16, they'd share the model with Glass Panes. Possibly climbable. When given power electrocutes those that touch it. Would look a hell of a lot nicer than the current Iron Fence, and would support "cages" since it uses the same model as Glass Panes (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/i…/Glass_Pane_Thickness.png).
It'd be nice to surround a compound in a nice chain link fence that would keep out enemies and players alike, being able to light up the fence with an electrical charge, etc. would just add to the usefulness factor.

UU Matter overpowered? I'm feeding mine with a solar array setup of 9 3x3 arrays, and it STILL takes forever to output, and I have a decent amount of scrap in it.
But if anything I'm baffled by how much power it takes to simply make two iron ore.
I'd say for the sake of sanity, remove the "single stack" items from the scrap boxes and expand the amount of stuff you can get from them to include a larger variety of stuff.
I'm sorry but saying the large volumes of stone and such mined by a Quarry require zero effort obviously shows how little you've really had to work these systems.
A default sized quarry with 4 stone engines pumping into it, takes about 512+ Charcoal to properly power to dig to the bottom of the world (as a 9x9). Take into account the 11 Diamonds that it takes to build the damn thing in the firstplace and it is NOT easy to construct for "tons of free materials".
Personally I get better ore returns for literally nothing using IC2's Miner, just solar array + Miner + Ore, Quarries are more expensive, take maintenance, and provide shit tons of raw crap and very little actual ore.
Tesla Coils hit in a 6x6 area making them deadly and inefficient space wise for proper traps.
This would be invaluable, as this huge storage would also be invaluable on my server, which although we do have access to personal chests, there is no way to use them at this time due to the inability to have resources be shared, or even viewed while inside.
Yea I went to construct my automated Warehouse today (it has buttons for you to call items using pipes!) and realized I couldn't pull from Personal Chests, so I was depressed realizing I needed twice the space to construct it =(
Luminators are coded but inoperable due to an annoying limitation in the MCEngine. We requested MCForge to add a fix, appears it got dropped somewhere, probably i should poke Spacetoad again.
Oh that's news, last I heard they just locked up MC like mad.
Be careful not to poke Spacetoad too hard, his outer skin is wet and soft and tears easily.
I prefer using 3x3's, they make glorious pits.
Especially great for making your own biome on a world

Sadly the high cost of a Miner running always means its a bit more than 3 blocks.
Yea BTW is SSP only so its not really to be considered as the "solution" it also adds a TON of stuff, some of which overlaps or doesn't integrate well with IC.
Suggesting mods like BC, RP, MF or such works for me because they're meant to work together.
We just need an Elevator of sorts period.
Wait wait that makes me think, what about building a "Mobile Mining Platform" which is a Miner + Drill + Scanner + other crap that can be charged like a Battery and then placed somewhere and mines until its out of energy?

My deal is I just like to be able to take my systems and organize them better, I like placing a single block and letting it run the work, hence why I prefer BC Quarries myself. So a more advanced, higher power usage Miner would be awesome.
Bumping this, the lack of the ability to pull from Personal Chests is still vitally hindering my systems from working ingame.
I figure the code shouldn't be too difficult for a new chest, and the Iron Chests MUST retain the ability to be opened with something above them.
I would like the ability to craft an upgraded OV Scanner to a third tier that sucks even more power for a much larger area personally.
but the ability to use Lapotron's inside a Miner is welcome as well.
Quarries take 4 hours to acquire mass amounts of raw material, ore included.
Miners take a short period of time to just acquire ore.
I'd be fine with it being a config option.
