I've recently become fond of tools which use durability rather then energy, and find the mechanic more balanced then the way that IC2 handles electric tools, as cool a mechanic they are.
And I keep thinking about how cool it would be if durability tools were made more useful in comparison, and this is what I came up with;(Also, to anyone willing to make this add-on, I can supply textures as needed)
First off, the add-on would (Obviously) add additional tools, using the new Gregtech materials, Tiered as such;
Invar Tools:
A simple upgrade of iron, increasing its durability by anywhere between 25-33% with all other aspects being exactly the same. Except for its enchantability, which takes a considerable 50% hit, making it comparable to stone.Aluminium Tools:
A mid-tier replacement of iron, (as seems to be its general intent in Gregtech) these tools have 10% more durability then Invar, mine a a good bit faster, and have only 25% less enchantability then iron. They additionally require either two refined iron rods or two bronze rods instead of sticks.Magnalium Tools:
Simply a way to extend the use of your aluminium, these are exactly the same as aluminium tools. The distinction is added simply to allow for melting the tool down into the correct type of ingot.Titanium Tools:
An expensive tool type, which has the same mining level as diamond, with 40% more durability and a bit faster mining speed, but piss-poor enchantability. Also uses Magnalium rods as stick material.Tungstensteel Tools:
High-tier tools with the same mining level and durability as diamond, but come pre-enchanted with Unbreaking III. (Just for you, SpawnX) They also mine a bit faster then titanium and have an enchantability of 0, making them doubly unenchantable. Also uses steel as stick material.Iridium Tools:
This is more of a joke then an actual request, tools made from iridium would have anywhere from 3-5 times the durability of diamond (possibly infinite durability?) as well as an insane mining speed and enchantability rating. Also, if possible, I think they should also have a unique fortune effect which only effects uranium and iridium, which causes them to yield 2-3 of the respective ore instead of one. (Is disabled if the tool has silk touch.) Uses iridium as stick material.Secondly, the add-on would add a config option for increasing the amount of EU that the electric tools use, preferably with the user in control of the amounts but with a default of 2-3x eu use, depending on the tool. (This does not include the new GT electric wrenchs or saws)

I like it. Personally, I'd like if it required a bit less chrome, but I suppose I can understand the expense, given how much power it has.
EDIT: Setting it up like your image, that will cost 50 chrome, plus 20 titanium... How much chrome does it cost to make a fusion reactor?
Maybe you could add a Tungstensteel machine casing, Greg?

We need an Advanced Jetpack, much powerful, more expensive fuel-wise, powered by Nitro-coalfuel, Nitro-diesel or biofuel (Ethanol).
My idea is : Jetpack + Lappack + Lapotron crystal + some tier 3 stuff = Advanced Jetpack
Able to recharge tools (1M storage) and fly (fuel storage of 1200 seconds of flight [1 nitrodiesel or 6 nitro-coalfuel or 3 biofuel cells]). This would definetely be a very popular item.[Addon v1.115 for MC 1.5.2] Gravitation Suite v1.9.3 ! [SSP/SMP]
Was that a troll/joke post?

Hey Greg, what about adding a config option for increasing the amount of EU electric tools consume per use, so that all durability tools aren't rendered instantly useless upon reaching steel? For example, starting off with 100-200 eu per block at the bronze jackhammer stage, upping it to 200-400 for drills and 150-350 for steel jackhammers, and balancing the rest of the tools from there.
That way, EU-using tools won't be quite as useful until EU is more plentiful.
EDIT: Also, could you add some way of melting down metal items that have partial durability, preferably with a percentage yield equal to the durability lost? (This should also have the ability to yield nuggets, for shovels) If you already have this ability, then where is it?
EDIT2: I have a small request for the new spray cans: Can you add a canning recipe for partial-filling, using only 1 of whatever item you use? For example, filling a can with 1 CF pellet will add 25 more uses, etc.
Also, is there a reason for the canning machine recipe giving a normal canning machine, rather then an automatic one? It just seems very odd to nerf all of the machines except that one...

Lithium is renewable.
Macerate plantballs into dirt, then centrifuge the dirt and you'll get clay, among other things.You can also centrifuge mycelium for a greater yield, though that's only possible if you find a mushroom biome or if you have other mods installed. (Forestry's moistener works wonderfully for this)

Machine Casings are INTENTIONALLY stupid Blocks. Too many senseless MetaTileEntities would lag the Game
What about being able to 'upgrade' a machine casing with a conveyor belt or machine hull or something, which would turn it into a tile entity and allow it to accept covers? That way the player would be able to choose which parts of the machine are tile entities, and which ones aren't. -

Since you plan on adding tungstensteel tools and armor, what about adding tools and armor for aluminum, magnalium, and titanium? Perhaps aluminum could have a but less durability then iron but mine considerably faster? Magnalium could basically be the same, and is useful for extending your aluminum by 33%. Titanium could be bascally an upgrade of diamond with improved durability, but a bit less speed and less enchantability.

i know that it was removed. And because of that I search a plugin that re-adds that.
There isn't one.

If this is a troll thread it was a crappy one because it didn't really anger anyone. It actually kind of displayed how helpful this community can be.
Yeah, I know... >->
Still, though, I found the attempt hilarious.
