I've got a problem with the recipe: NEI tells me it is made out of a copper cable, alone, like this:
I don't know how to fix this issue. Does anyone know how?

I have the same. Luckily, the recipe is almost like that from "old" IC2: ins. copper cable on top and bottom, machine casing in the middle.

As said before, this is bug in IC2 and NEI code interaction, but updating it would cause many addons to become borked up.
You can't get a fix anyway though, since there will not be anymore builds for 1.6.
