The number of people not just on the forum, but on things like Quetzi's stream chat asking how to make CF or Coolant could be greatly reduced if the canning machine NEI support was added back, so you can see that fluid enrich mode with lapis dust and either water or distilled water makes coolant, or CF Powder and Water makes CF. It'll make many people's lives a lot easier 
updating the important parts on the IC wiki would help a lot, too
there are tons of people trying to use the recipes from the old industrial-craft wiki.
I think adding NEI as optional dependency or something like that would help a lot, too
if there is a simple way to add NEI Support to Canning Machine it would be already in ... I have already wasted hours on NEI Support..but no good solution found..
What about making NEI show a text description of how to make an item in the canning machine, kind of like Applied Energistics 2 does for "in world crafting" of Fluix Crystals? I realize it wouldn't be as elegant as showing the canning machine gui, but as it stands now, if I click on something like a coolant cell to ask NEI for the recipe, it doesn't show anything, which leads me to wonder whether the item is even craftable in the current version of IC2.
