I just exploded my array of Tesla Coils when connecting them to a MFE like it says on the WIKI.

Yeah, the in-game information is much more reliable than the wiki. In the tooltip of the machines, it tells you the tier of the tier of the machines.

Also the wiki is designed so it can be edited by anyone, so if you find information that needs updating it can be done yourself.

The wiki has always been a community project, it increases the chance of things actually getting done if anyone can help. Not that many people like writing though, so it used to end up getting done by a small group of people.
