I'm not really sure HOW I shaved off 4 seconds; I just studied the reactor setup and figured out the basic idea, then went around playing with placement. *shrug*
You can put another IHD in the empty space if you want, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

I was wondering why it can run only 35 sec. But this setting does not have big effect on EU/t anyway, just different running and cooldown times.

With only 1 uran cell touching the depleted cells i cant seem to go further than 73%. Still thats pretty good efficiency through.
With 4 uran cells touching the depleted cell it could reduce the eff XD

Alright, I went through most of the thread and didn't see this setup, so please don't yell at me if it's a duplicate. I took Rick's air-cooled perfect breeder and replicated it with 1 less IHD:

As well, this one's easier to heat up - replace 2 of the depleted cells with uranium cells so they form a line and run it a couple of cycles. Then put your depleted cells back in and it's party time. Alternately, if you don't mind using Buildcraft you can just pump a lava lake into 11 tanks and get to bucketing.
At least, that's what it looks like in the planner - I admit I haven't actually tested it out in-game, but I see no reason it shouldn't work. But maybe run it far from your base just in case.

You could try to re-charge 4 cells instead of 6. This breeder doesn't charge all of them with one cycle, you need 2 cycles to charge the 6 cells.

Don't know that this one's been posted before...
mark-I, low efficiency, but you get 110e/t without any cooldown. Yes, it takes 9 cells, but I haven't seen anybody put up a high-power low-risk reactor yet.
