They probably traded break chance with cable tolerance... at 6-7 EU/t I'd imagine that your Tin wires start melting, and that you'd need either copper or higher to withhold that voltage...

the advantage to higher altitude is you can build more compact safe wind farms
the is no rain in the desert maybe you should try there next?

Apparently its been a while since windmill break chance was reduced to being able to happen during a Thunderstorm or rain only.

The windmill finally broke after a lightning storm.
This may sound stupid but how can you tell if your windmill is broken?
