In order to prevent a meltdown, would just surrounding a reactor with personal safes work? I don't know for sure but they seem like placable bedrock. Also, has anyone tried something like that before?
Clarification on something

Nope, Personal Safes are not Blastproof in that way. They're just letting the Explosion go trough them.

Same for Trade-o-mats.

In order to prevent a meltdown, you need to cool reactor properly.

Ahhh. I was just wondering because those things seemed basically indestructible. Ahhh well. Looks like I'mback to burying my reactors at the bottom of the world still lol. At least in the event of a meltdown, the bottom of the reactor isn't gonna budge. If only there was a legitimate way to make a shell out of bedrock. *le sigh* thanks for answering that though

They are indestructible, the thing is that IC2's explosion code is specifically set to ignore blocks like that. -
They are indestructible, the thing is that IC2's explosion code is specifically set to ignore blocks like that.IC² explosion doesnt ignores Bedrock (i tested it already)

No, bedrock is whitelisted.

No, bedrock is whitelisted.
That means, only Bedrock can stand such Explosions? (without letting them through)

Well I had an accidental meltdown one time in one of my reactors. Or rather i went away from one for a while and when i came back it wasn't there anymore. since i always build my reactors at bedrock level, I knew something had happened but the bedrock was completly intact.
